| ""greatest band ever and are truly under appreciated""" well the thing about being unappreciated, is true. some wankers don´t listen queen because freddie was gay. That´s a shame, | |

| I think this song was written about the really bad recording contract that Queen had with Trident eg he uses 'money-make machine' maybe to describe their managers that made alot of money out the band when they were still living in bedsits (This is true - John's partner had her first child when they were still living in a bedsit in London). I think Queen were (rightfully) quite bitter about the whole thing when they wrote this. Sorry for rambling, it's just my opinion :) damn good song though :D | |

| I agree with mecury_girl's analysis. I think it is a precursor to Death on Two legs, and is basically about money grubbing record bosses who like to stiff hard working bands like queen in order to make a profit. "Dislocate your spine if you don't sign he says " I don't think that's meant literally but I can picture the scene: Freddie and the boys reading through a somewhat dubious record contract and the big fat cigar smoking boss threatning with something like "if you don't sign I'll see you never work in music again!!!!" | |

| Pretty Much. I love this song, and i wonder how their old manager feels about having all these hate songs directed to him. This song also creeps me out a bit: "Work my fingers to my bones I scream with pain I still make no impression" This still sends chills down my spine. Poor queen. they deserved more than this. F**KING RECORD COMPANY SLAVE DRIVERS!! | |

| Something of pure evil in the world that is trying to rip you off, that will also kill you. Devil, or considering that it was written by Freddie Mercury who was of the Zoroastrian Faith "Angra-Mazda" the diety of evil, but it relates better to this album in the fact that the person being reffered to as "You" has fallen prey to the evil spirit and just realizing the terrible effects of it. The album itself seems to be about the hard times of life especially in love. all of the songs fit into hard knocks category | |

| Several of you are correct and several more close, while the others were just flat out wrong. This isn't about love or anything to do with sexual situations, such that was point out by "ledskynyrd". It's about their managers/producers...not sure if it's Trident or those immediatily following...but it is just as "Death On Two Legs". I've recently started taking drum lessons to go along with my guitar/vocals, just to round myself out as a musician...and OMG, Roger is killing those drums!! Queen are the greatest band not just rock but the greatest band ever and are truly under appreciated. They arranged their songs perfectly with the music and lyrics, and this song's just a pure example of that. | |

| This is one of my favorite songs on the "Sheer Heart Attack" album. It is a stab at a former manager or someone that Freddie feels he and the band have been wronged by. It is a fantastic rock song as only Queen could do it. This music still sounds as original and new as it did upon release. Freddie Mercury was the best the world will ever see. | |
