There is a movie called "Dead Man" this song is the main theme. It is a story about a man who was shot and is already dead but doesn't know it yet. An indian guide is taking him to the land of the dead. The sone re-emerges throughout the movie. I think of it as a place between lives evertytime i hear it now.
