Don't die on the motorway,
The moon would freeze, the plants would die,
I couldn't cope if you crashed today,

I'm goin' out for a little drive,
And it could be the last time you see me alive,
I could be an idiot on the road,
the only kick in life is pumping and stealing (?)
(chords as before)
Wrap me up in the back of the trunk,
Packed with foam and blind drunk,
They won't ever take me alive,
Cm G
'Cause they all drive killer cars, yeah...
play verse chords for two bars with adlib vocals
(chords as before)
Wrap me up in the back of the truck,
Packed with foam and blind drunk,
They won't ever take me alive,
Cm G
'Cause they all drive killer cars.
Cm G
'Cause they all drive killer cars.
Cm G
they all drive..... killer cars.

| Is it possible to state your message without being confrontational? Yes. Thom is a little wary of cars, as we all should be. He's said something along the lines of "We're just riding on those things, you know. We're not in control of them." For myself it brings to mind a fear of the way we live our lives, trusting in things that just carry us along without thinking about how we got from point A to point B. We do a lot of things without thinking. We go to the ATM and expect this box to spit money into our hands because that's just what it does. Hop on the train, and it goes. Press this button, the box turns on and shows us images. That sort of thing. No one stops to think that what you're looking at is tons and tons of tiny points of red, green, and blue light. You're sitting there staring at a box, but if you catch yourself you'll notice that when you're absorbed in what you're watching it's almost like you ignore your peripheral vision. All you see is what's in front of you. Sorry. That got long-winded. Oh well. | |

| this song is about the fear of the demise of an unfinished life. it proves how one day, totally unexpected, something could happen that might alter your life forever, and you might not the option or the time to make things in your life right. dying is scary, but leaving unfinished business or unsaid words behind you is worse. | |

| This song is about the fear of dying any moment before telling someone how you really feel about them. It's also about the fear of death and how the singer plans to fight it when it approaches. | |

| It's not a metaphor for death or anything stupid like that. It's about Thom's fear of cars, what else would it be about? Do you all really think every single Radiohead lyric is some kind of metaphor for something? | |
