"LUCKY" (from Help album and e.p.)
by Radiohead
Lyrics by Tony Bowden (from http://boris.qub.ac.uk/tony/radiohead/)
Transcribed by Stephen Bond (bond@ricochet.u-net.com)
This is one of the songs of the year IMHO.
You can get in on the Help E.P. but it's worth
buying the whole album because almost every track
on it is brilliant (and the proceeds go to a good
cause as well of course). Enjoy!
[Verse 1]
Em Am G Bm Em
I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll....this time
C G Bm Em
I feel my luck could change.
Em Am
Kill me stright out??
G Bm Em
Kill me again....with love.
C G Bm Em
It's gonna be a glorious day.
[Chorus]
A Em
Pull me out of the aircrash,
A Em
Pull me out of the wreck,
A Em C B7
Cause I'm your superhero leave you standing on the edge.....
Em +(add F)
[verse 2]
Em Am G Bm Em
Another state has called for me by name.
C G Bm Em
But I dont have time for them
Em Am G Bm Em
Its gonna be a glorius day
C G Bm Em
I feel my luck could change
[chorus] C B7
[instr. chorus].... leave you standing on the edge....

| I think the guy has just survived something awful - like an aircrash, or a war - and he's feeling so lucky, so alive. One of Radiohead's optimistic songs :-) I don't even think he has a rocky relationship, just that he values it more now. One of the lines should read: "The head of state is calling my name but I, I don't have time for HIM"... He's got his priorities back in order, great song! | |

| i am Sarah, by the way. and this song is about taking on each day for what it has to offer, regardless of the pain it may bring. you know, taking chances, and having faith. | |

| This song was written fr the help album in 1995. Various artists ( including Oasis, StoneRoses, Massive Attack etc..) had one day to record a song in aid of the Warchild charity in the uk. The whole album was recorded, mixed, printed aand on the shelves in 7 days and sold loads. The band were going to re-record it for OK Computer but felt they couldnt improve on the Warchild version. It also came out as a single in 95 for warchild. | |

| I just want to comment on plasticwonder's comments about "kah mi sirrah, sirrah/whatever will be, will be". The song is actually "que sera, sera" which is Spanish for whatever will be, will be. That song has nothing to do with sirrah. | |
