| Man, this song is awesome. Has such a good feeling. I don't think this puzzle was meant to be solved . I like the lines 'you can kiss it, you can break all the rules'. And everything is broken. | |

| i personaly believe this to be a love song. not only a love song, but a toxic love song. he says you can force it but it will not come. like love, you cannot force someone to love you. can taste love, or feel it, but it will not form. crush your feelings hold them in. minimize your fealings from crushing them, but they will always be on your mind. rejection chases thom home. everything for thom is broken, and everyone that thom sees other than him self is corrupt. i believe thom to be a cynical person also. thom is saying love is painfull from the line "you can force it but it will stay stung" when he says you can crush it as dry as a bone, i think he is saying that the feelings will become old and dead and that you can crush them then. you can walk it home strate from school, what better place to get a first love, those are always intence >=) "you can kiss it, you can break all the rules." you can break all the rules because all is fair in love and war, so go kiss it. but still i am broken from that one beautiful girl. | |

| supposed to be planet xerox. not windex. anyway, i think this song is about general frustration. no matter what you do "everything is broken" "everyone is broken" i love way this song flows. i did read on followmearound.com that he was lying down drunk when he sang this. and now that i heard that it has an essence of drunken singing song. | |

| Supposed to be planet windex, but coughcorporatebastardscough. Please don't sue me. I love windex, its oh so helpful. This song makes me think of a broken heart, a love you don't want to have- one that makes you hate youself, but you can't stop loving someone, no matter how much you want or should hate them, but you just can't, you love them so much and its all so backwarded and you just want to scream 'FUCK!!!!' at the top of your lungs, and maybe someone would hear you, but it wouldn't help, because regardless of whether you move on or find someone new, you can't forget. | |

| The 'it' that he's referring to could be a niggling sense of spiritlessness in society. He seemed to be driving at the same thing in Airbag. | |

| i kinda agree what ppl have been saying but this is deffinately not a love song! i believe its about the fact that there is always going to be some negatives in your life, you can never attain perfection. you can do what all the movies say and you can live your life the way your told to, but if you have some intelligence you will always come back to the fact that "everything is broken" "why can't you forget" means why cant you get rid of this idea in the back of your mind and be completely ignorant, completely happy and forget this gut feeling that no matter what you do, nothing will be right rather depressing | |

| He sais kiss it, as to say in minor terms of lacking any, standard of humanity, or credit of that individual being He would say it wasd broken in those terms He is suggesting, that people break the rules, because the rules are broken, offcenter, misplaced, why wouild they have anhything right after cuircumcision? http://www.webmagician.com/pubservice/real_truth.html | |

| It certainly isn't overly joyous. Since it was supposed to be "Xerox" I think of a bunch of copies that aren't as good as the original. They're all malfunctional (broken). They're so far removed from what they came from...but they can't forget it either. Because that's who they are. An apt statement for our time. | |

| i agree with eatcarpet. this song isnt about love at all. its about the fact that sum things are inevitable. nomatter what u do (crush, kiss it, walk it home from school etc.) it stays the same. at the end when he repeats "why cant you forget" hes asking why people cant just accept the inevitable. its a bit of a downer if u think about it | |

| This song isn't a love song, it's about how reality is unchangable. We've been doing the same for thousands of years and not much has changed since. So basically this song is telling you to be smart about things. Yelling and screaming won't get you what you want. | |

| This is probably simplifying things too much and too obvious, but for me this is purely about depression. No matter how you try to force happiness or crush unhappiness, you can't change how you feel. 'Everything is broken' is like the ultimate summary of feeling permanently crap. | |
