"Into your pockets son they got you thinkin' that What you need is what they sellin' Make you think that buyin' is rebellin'" -This one is Rage' point of view on advertisng and the media. Most adventisments today try to make it look like buying their product will set you apart from the crowd...when all you've done is given your money to a huge corporation. I especially like the part that says "trade in your history for a vcr" This pretty much sums up what i believe...that most people would rather watch a fictional story than learn about their heritage.

TheGrandArdizzle I agree. I also thought it said: "Americanize, Americanize view the world from American eyes bury the past, rob us blind and leave nothing behind..." Which would refer to America pushing its culture and ideas on the rest of the world. Although some of my friends think its just "American eyes."

Well I would agree that its about Americanization of other countries. Though not imperialistic by definition, it does seem to be on the same tract. I especially liked the inclusion of the line "Coca-Cola is back in the veins of Saigon", which historically was noted as being interesting how when the US sent advisors and diplomats to Vietnam they expected to be the first official American in the country. To their surprise, the billboards on the streets of Saigon already had Coca-Cola advertisements. Just goes to show how insidious capitalism can be.
