| i don't think it's about Emiliano Zapata himself.Zapata fought during early XX century and the events in the song take place in 1994, when Zapatistas, people from Chiapas district, mainly native mexicans, descendants of mayan and other indians decide to uprise.they called themselves zapatistas cause their main aim was the same as Zapatas, tierra y libertad, ground and liberty, their first leader turned out to be a white teacher, one of few whites among Zapatistas. They even captured capital of chiapas, San Cristobal de las Casas, so now government moved capital to Tuxtla Gutierrez. The revolution ended in foggz circumstances, nobodz came to compromise, and now zapatistas are hiding in chiapas mountains, for me one of the most beautiful views in the world, but nobodz knows who they are and what they really want now, we onlz know their leader, Marcos | |
