Track: Street of Dreams
Artist: Rainbow
Album: Bent out of Shape, 1983
A great song I first heard on their best of album from 1997. I decided to work
out the chords so I could include this in my solo set, so this is only the chords
as I could work them out. It's how I play it myself, so places are probably
wrong, and not having a backing group, i haven't tabbed the solo/intro. Anyway, enjoy.
D
I heard the sound of voices in the night
A E
Spellbound there was someone calling
D
I looked around no one was in sight
A E
Pulled down I just kept on falling
D A
I’ve seen this place before
D E
You were standing by my side
D A D G
I’ve seen your face before tonight
Maybe I just see what I want it to be
I know it’s a mystery
D A D
Do you remember me
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Running through my memory
A E D
On the street of dreams
D
There you stood a distant memory
A E
So good like we never parted
D
Said to myself I knew you’d set me free
A E
And here we are right back where we started
D A
Something’s come over me
D E
And I don’t know what to feel
D A D G
Maybe this fantasy is real
Now I know I see what I want it to be
But it’s still a mystery
D A D
Do you remember me
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Running through my memory
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
You're in every face I see
A E D
On the street of dreams
D A
Something’s come over me
D E
And I don’t know what to feel
D A D G
Maybe this fantasy is real
Now I know I see what I want it to be
But it’s still a mystery
D A D
Do you remember me
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Running through my memory
A E D A D
On the street of dreams
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
I know have you always been
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Will we ever meet again (my friend)
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Do you know just what it means to be
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
Never know just who you’ll see (do ya)
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
You can be who you want to be oh yeah
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
I can hear you calling me
A E D
On the street of dreams
A D
I can feel you haunting me
A E D
On the street of dreams
Haunting me
A E D
On the street of dreams
Leave the last D to ring, and it sounds alright. Happy playing :)

| This song makes me think of... friends that have been forgotten... about people who i wil forget in the future... and just meeting them again in my dreams or in death or just randomly and going man!! I forgot you and now I know who that person whose face I keep seeing but I think the intended meanings are more along the lines of a guy who has split up from a girl and he stilll thinks of her... but then one day... he meets her again and its like... woah... I have sorta forgotten you... but i still see you in my dreams... its a total feelgood song | |
