Last week I had to find a song about non-conformity for English class, and was looking through all of my Rammstein music since I know that nobody else in my school is a big fan of them. I decided that "Spring!" was the best song to use, but this one also crossed my mind. "They want my heart beating in the right place but I look below and it beats left from there" I believe that with this line it's possible to say that the song may also be dealing with conformity. "Spring" was saying that doing what the crowd tells you can get you killed. For the project I interpreted this one as a song about the crowd wanting you to do something that simply isn't possible. I also used "Amerika" as an example in the conformity project; rather than seeing through they eyes of somebody being forced to do what everybody else want, "Amerika" is told from the eyes of the one setting the trends and forcing others to conform. As "Amerika" IS about America forcing its culture and ways on the rest of the world, I don't think that interpretation is far off.

Jaeger- WHere do you come up with your crackpot theories? Just because they're German means they're racists Nazi's? WHat about Megaherz, or Stahlhammer, or Oomph!, or Herbert Groenemeyer? Are they all Nazi's too? ANd anyway, all but one of the members of Rammstein refused to serve in the military when they were tagged by the draft, I get the feeling they aren't too interested in "proud Prussian infantry" regiments of old.

Links zwo drei vier is an old military chant that the German military used...this song is all aboot resisting government control or being in a prison of society, either one...konnen/kann is the German word for can, and lead singer Till sings aboot can hearts break, sing, spring, ask, cry, think and all this other stuff, and he says they want his heart in the right spot, but he looks down and it beats in the left, 2, 3, 4....
