If you own the Rocket to Russia album read the entire book sleve. You'll get a pretty good image of what Rockaway Beach was actually like.

Ah, Rockaway Beach. I lived in queens as a kid and i remember going there. in fact my grandfather was a lifeguard there in the 30s and 40s.
