This is my favorite song... well ever. Of course I am from Olympia, WA and was a part of the punk rock scene in my adolescence so I could be biased... The feeling I get from this song is mostly about how Tim feels out of place in a big city such as New York. The Olympia punk rock scene was much like the east bay scene at the time. The Capitol Theatre in Olympia would pack out every weekend for a 3 dollar punk rock show and that feeling of belonging just couldn't be beat.

assholes aside, this is a kickass song. It's pretty melodic which is good. Sounds like a song about not being comfortable with your surroundings. like homesickness or being in the business of a city like NY just depresses you seeing how needlessly hectic some people's lives can be and it makes you appreciate your lifestyle and where you're from. and the NOFX cover just killed the melancholy mood :(

First off I like both versions they are both great!. but the nofx version i believe capture the true feeling of the song and it is the one cover they did justice too. and your a moron if you think that this version sux i bet if this one came out first you would have just the opposite feelings. fat mike made the song sadder exspecially the end of the last verse where he says i dont want to be alone again, it truelly conveyed alot of feelign in it. but i think the song is about being away from home and how sometimes when you are homesick you feel alone because nothing around you is familiar to you. and you feel a sense of being out on your own. and the only person that you can depend on is yourself, life on the road gets depressing exspecially seeing people doing their job and being able to go home after they are done. its a truelly great song and conveys a sense of lonelieness. and both versions do justice to the song they are both great but just because fat mike added more melody and emotion to it doesnt warrant it for a "it sux" label. cause then you are just being nieve just because it isnt the original

That damn Tobi Vail... This song gets written about her... like half of Nevermind by Nirvana was written about her.. Anyway, I live in Olympia... and it's not all that great. So shut up.
