| this rancid song is teeeerrific! i think it's kinda weird though that they decide to make a huge ass patch outta this song...when it's pretty much one of their least hardcore songs...oh well who cares, they're still the best punk band ever in my opinion! | |

| billie joe armstrong DID co-write this song, if you look inside the booklet it tells you that. oh yeah, this song is about how his dad never gave him enough love (he gave more love to his bottle of wine), and the only thing that helped him was music and he fell in love with it. | |

| i think it's great that billy joe armstrong co-wrote this song. that gives me a reason to laugh in the faces of my stupid wannabe-punk-rock-elitist friends who trash on me for liking blink and all that "pop shit." they think it makes them cool to hate on my bands but in reality rancid are friends with blink and nfg (tim and brody are in one of new found glory's music videos, and tim and travis from blink have their own band together now) but enough about that crap. this song kicks ass, i love nofx's version too i think it's cool how they made it completely different. | |

| First of all, Rancid kicks ass, and this song has got to be one of the greatest ever written. What does it mean to me? Well.... the second line in the song [Never knew what a good time was 'til I had a good time with you] means more to me than you can imagine. This is my friendship song with my soul mate. I never knew what an actual GOOD TIME was until I experienced one with her. I mean, sure, I had had great times with people, fun. But with her, we we're soul mates, and no one can ever understand so I may as well not explain. When the music hits, I feel no pain at all... When I'm in the mosh pit, or the skunk pit, or the huge circle pit, when you get knocked in the face and blood is running out of your nose, if Radio, Roots & Radicals or whatever song is playing, that your not feeling the pain in the least bit. And what "pain" you are feeling isn't pain. It's the music. It's hard to understand but for the deeper people out there I'm sure you'd get it. For me to say that this is one of the greatest songs ever written is a big deal. I'm a huge fan of Rancid, but still... I think everyone should check out the post under Bye Bye Miss American Pie. That might just be one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Oh, and about NOFX's cover of Radio? Well... it is good in a different way. They did a good job, because usually all covers sound the same. But nothing could compare to Rancid's version, although live NOFX does a kick ass job. I don't like the cover very much, but that's only my opinion. I have respect for it, I just don't like it. And [When I've got the music, I've got a place to go]... how true is that for all of us? When you have a fight with someone, or you got fired, or your just pissed off, how many of us don't go into our rooms and play our music? When we've got the music, it's like having a shoulder to cry on. We have a place to go. With that, I guess all that's left to say is ... Rock -n- Roll. :D | |
