The Rapture is a post punk influenced rock band with elements of acid house. Signed to the DFA record label, the four-piece have received critical acclaim both Stateside and throughout Japan and The UK. The Rapture formed in 1998 and are currently based out of New York City.
The Rapture gained widespread popularity after the release of the singles "House of Jealous Lovers" and "Sister Saviour" from their first full album, "Echoes".
In 2004, The Rapture performed on the main stage of the Curiosa Festival alongside Interpol, Scarling., Mogwai, Cursive, The Cooper Temple Clause, Head Automatica, and their own idols The Cure.
