A2
I hope that days come easy and moments pass slow,
E
And each road leads you where you want to go,
A2
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
E
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
A2
And if one door opens to another door closed,
E
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
C#m A2 B
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
C#m A2 B
But more than anything, more than anything,
E F#m A2 B
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
E F#m
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
A2 B
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
C#m A2
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
E B F#m
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
B A2 (hold A2)
Yeah, this, is my wish.
(same as verse 1)
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
Chorus
B A E F#m A2 B
This is my wish
B E F#m A2 B
I hope you know somebody loves you
B E F#m A B E F#m A2 B (and on A E chord)
May all your dreams stay big

| Wow it seems like everyone else has taken this song and applied to their own lives..or something lol. emilyR143, i know EXACTLY how you feel lol. the first time i heard this song, my ex bf (who was my best friend in the whole world) popped into my head. Its my song for him, and i just wish i could tell him lol. buts its too soon right now. anywaiz this song is whatever you want it to mean...whether to a child (i thought of that too..like a child that is maybe going off to college, or getting married or blablabla) or an ex, or even a current bf/gf. anyone. my favourite line is: "My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it, to your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small" and i also love that part that says: "I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too" 'nuff said =) | |

| i think this song could really be about what you would want for you kids when they grow up and have their own lives. i don't have kids or anything. but it seems like it would be the kind of feeling you'd have for them. | |

| I told an ex b/f of mine to listen to this song and to believe everyword as though it were coming from me eachtime he listened to it... he'd never listened to rascal flatts before this song and he told me that its the perfect description of what love really is. Seeing him happy makes me happy, even if I don't get to share that happiness with him. | |

| i think all great country songs...or well, all country songs... can be twisted and distorted in meaning to apply to everyone's situation. anyway, this song could be to someone who is getting ready to graduate, or maybe as a gift from someone who just passed away? like i sign or something. but i think its mostly a message to not forget the people who care about you and no matter how hard it gets or how bad you fuck up they will always be there. | |

| This song reminds me of my situation with a guy who is very close to my heart and I had feelings for. He's sort of a loner, "lost" in a way and he's impossible to reach. Just looking at the guy, even those who have seen him can tell he is depressed and troubled. I wish we could have had a stronger connection than we do now, and he has showed signs of wanting that. However it just never happened. I see him around but we aren't "friends" - we're just two people who know each other. He has SO many bad influences in his life and I guess instead of, well, "saving" him I can only wish that he makes a good life for himself and doesn't become a jerk. Anyway, basically this song describes my feelings for this guy. | |

| I LOVE this song! with a passion! lol. There are a few special people that I care a lot about that I would say things like that to. I love the chorus. I think that what strikes me about this song is that it's not necessarily begging the person the song is directed at to fall in love with you or anything. It just says that you genuinely care about that person and it would make you so happy knowing they're happy, even if it means you two are apart. It's sort of refreshing like that, if that makes sense :D And yet, it says "I hope you know somebody loves you." Something about that is very comforting to me. I can't explain it. I love this song because the lyrics are different from other songs I listen to :D | |

| i think that this song could be about a child. i dont know if any of the band members have children, but that is what i think of when i hear it. kind of like he is just saying that he wants his child to follow all of their dreams and know that they are supported. it could also be about a friend. | |

| well this song could also be directed to pretty much everyone as a motivation. it seems like one of those "don't give up songs". the lyrics always mention "you"... not exactly a someone... maybe "you" in general (as in the listeners) all in all... its an awesome song and these other comments are really good ideas too :D | |
