nirvana and chili pepers are uncomparable dude. two of the very best at two very different genres. they didnt play come as you are to mock nirvana they respected nirvanas music and the bands were both good friends. i think they toured together and thats why tearjerker is a tribute to cobain.

One of my favorite songs by the Chili Peppers. It's obviously about the roots of Rock 'N' Roll, as butterfleafrog said.

As far as I know, the term "Backwoods" means a place that's out of the way...middle of nowhere if you will. I think it's just gettin' the message across that most of the big artists - Chuck Berry, Little Richard - are from the less talked about, out of the way places; this is my best guess, I haven't actually been bothered to look up where the mentioned artists are from, but feel free to ;)

yeh I thought it was about sex but its cleaned up abit since then. Red Hot Chilis whoop Nirvana's ass anyday!
