I think this song is about life on stage. Stadium being a key clue. " Bells around St. Petersburg When I saw you I hope I get what you deserve And this is where I find Smoke surrounds your perfect face And I’m falling Pushin' a broom out into space And this is where I found the way" This is describing them on stage looking out at te audiance members. "I hope i get what you deserve" may be him talking to his fans meaning all the love that his fans deserve is what he wants from them, or applause maybe. "Derelict days, and the stereo plays For the all night crowd that it cannot face" Basically just saying that their songs can be heared even if they are not around on the radio. They don't need to be there in concert to be enjoyed. "Stadium Arcadium A mirror to the moon (Mirror to the moon) Well I’m forming and I’m warming (Warming to you) The state of the art until the clouds come crashing Stranger things have happened both Before and afternoon (Before and afternoon) And I’m forrming And I’m warming (Warming to you) Pushing myself and no I don't mind asking " This part of the song I think describes the ever changing style of a band. Like this is a very new style for RHCP though it remains very much theirs.

I think forming and warming are referring to the 'stadium arcadium' old dirt i think you are pretty accurate. stadium arcadium is either a feeling or a place dealing with connection to music or nature or emotion. it's a really personal song - it can be interpreted numerous ways.

this is when the red hot chili peppers stop singing about drugs and start singing about love. This is the worst rhcp album yet, but it's still a great album
