| This is a song about a parent growing old and losing connection with there child. Very sad if you really look at the lyrics. | |

| I think it's about a mother who is depressed, faraway, and worn out after years and years of crap from her kids/husband. "Lune" can mean a portion of a moon... but it can also mean a fit of craziness, FYI. | |

| This song is about a woman on drugs. The lyrics about her fading too soon and drifting away, all because she is a young woman and a young woman is supposed to be this sort of porcelain doll to the world. A young woman with her porcelain face just "fading too soon" due to drugs. Drifting away into this lifestyle that the rest of the world doesn't share. Sharing with her child, because she had a miscarriage due to her drugs, and the song is saying that she wouldn't stop drugs even for a child she was bearing. | |

| All songs will have a different meaning to each person. I agree with a lot of what ModestMe said. When I think of the word 'porcelain' in the song, I think it's being thought of as a drug. 'are you wasting away in your skin, are you missing the love of your kin, drifting and floating and fading away' are my favourite lines throughout and I just see it as this drug taking you away, that you're not really there any more 'drifting and floating and fading away' I don't know. it's all up to the listener. Red Hot Chili Peppers touches me in a way that no other band/artist/singer can. They have music for words that can't be said or felt. know what I mean? | |

| i don't think it could be about abortion, because if the moon is in her womb, it's a little late to be getting an abortion. maybe it's about teenage pregnancy... her family isn't happy about her getting pregnant (are you missing the love of your kin, someone said that youre fading too soon).. i dunno.. it's a beautiful song. | |

| This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. The words just seem to flow out, without seeming forced. This song demonstrates just how versatile RHCP really is. | |
