	Yeah CloudyHead if you listen to the lyrics that's clearly what he's talking about. It talks about how he has regrets about it and is sad it didn't work out. I'm not quite sure what "million miles of water" is a metaphore for?

	this song is definitely an ode to yohanna logan [read scar tissue]. he says that in his book that if he put as much into any other relationship that he'd be married with five kids. the majority of by the way is about her. i think when he says "a million miles of water that are flowing deep beneath this ground" that the water is his love and deep down, even though their relationship is over, he will still always love her.

	Im taking a wild guess but he may be refuring to john frusciante's metaphore in the album "to recored water..." water i think may be a metaphore for happiness, when he says "million miles of water laying beneith this ground" maybe the water (or happiness and possibly sadness) has been lost "but now he found it my dear?" taking a wild guess

	This song (to me anyways) is obviously about a past relationship with someone you loved very very much. Its also a relationship you have a lot of regrets about, and both people were really hurt when it ended. I think the "million miles of water" is a metaphor for all the feelings, love, pain and effort that went into the relationship and that theres so much its equivilent in quantity to a million miles of water. The water is flowing deep beneath the ground because although the feelings are still there (they always will be)they have been "burried" and you are ready to move on with your life.
