| This song is funny. Had anyone else noticed that Relient K's this song is a lot like "I so Hate Consequences"? Becuase it's talking about how you don't want to do something, but at the end (of the song) you do it anyway and everything is okay. Maybe it's just me. :O | |

| Ya know, guys, I dont really think this was meant to be a humorous song, or I guess we can say a 'non-serious' song. I think it is about the fact that all in the world he wanted to do was play music, he somehow knew that college wasnt for him, that it was a big waste of time, but he did it anyway becuase everyone wanted him to. Thats he says 'Oh no, not for me, not for me Call it torture, call it university', I am in this exact situation. I went becuase everyone wanted me to, and it was torture, it was not where I was supposed to be, as weird as that sounds. Not that I'm knocking university or anything but like the man says, 'not for me, not for me'. :) | |

| This song is obviously about going to college because your parents want you to, but it ends up being more than you expected. I really like Relient K, but some of their Christian messages are flaky. For instance, that part: "Do what will make God happy Do what you feel is right Only but one thing matters Learn how to live your life." (yeah, first time he says "you happy" second time he says "God happy", listen to it and you'll see) Anyway, feelings hold no weight. Doing what we "feel" is right only leads to trouble. That's why we have the Bible. Read this for more info: http://www.rome4christ.com/reflectn/gwcs13.html. (It's not a long read, so it won't kill you) Also, the only thing that matters is serving God... maybe he just forgot to add the extra two words "serving God"... oh well. | |

| I wasn't busting on Relient K for doing a cool non-God related song. But like most Relient K songs, after all the sattire, puns, and sarcasm, they wrap it up with some serious lines. If I was getting on them for having a sense of humor I'd be commenting on songs like Mood Rings or Lion-O (both of which are awesome). I was just pointing out how those few lines in this song can mislead some people. | |

| flaky, flaky, flaky? blah blah blah. Can't a christian band just joke around? It's not as if they are being serious. I hate how people are always busting on christian bands like they are supposed to be perfect. They try there best. And as for this song, it's just a joke! have a sense of humor man. | |

| I'm with puddle, that no Christian is perfect (Romans 3:23) But I saw RK in consert a while ago and Matt T. said "This song isn't about not going to college, but think before spending all your parents money | |

| I think the Puma Man is way off. Not all Christian songs have to be about christ you know. And they're "flaky". Come on now. And you should definately do what you think is right. If "God" [sorry I'm not bashing but I don't believe it him] wants you to do something you feel is wrong, then don't do it. Do what you think is right and stick by your morals. And I would like to believe that I have a bigger purpose in life than making someone happy. No offence. But yeah. Its basically about doing something, just because someone told you to. Laterr | |

| Great song. I agree with Spitterman fully. I mean, this verse... Its time to call my father Cause its his alma mater He said hes proud of me But college always was his dream And I would always say its not for me ...and the last verse give the whole meaning away. Seriously. I can really relate to it because my parents are like this. It sucks. Anyway. Like everyone else said, not every song from a Christian band has to be about God. Christians can have fun too :] | |

| Even though this song is kinda mindless for RK, but I must say the verses are funny. And RK surely meant no contradictions to the Bible. | |

| hehehe an AWESOME song! sooooooo true as well, i'm a "college kid" (well it's called uni here in OZ, but woteva) and sometimes i definately feel like that. thankfully, i have only myself to blame (the crazy person who is doing this, only to probably end up spending the rest of my working life in the education system... i want to be a teacher. you don't need to tell me i'm nuts, i know already.) | |

| I think it's a song he wrote to (or about) his parents, talking about how college wasn't his dream, but he did it because his parents wanted him too. Eventually, he figured out that he needed to learn how to live his life and make his own desicions | |
