| I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG!! It's just amazingly written. The lyrics display much thought into each and every line. My iPod's set to keep repeating this song..it's just so marvelous. To me, this song is simply talking about a relationship gone bad. Now he's lonely and getting over it. This is by far my favorite song. ROCK ON RELIENT K! | |

| I really like this song. The variations, the piano, the middle part, all of it. It makes me feel better like getthejacket said. I really like "I think I'll go eat cereal and stare out the window." Because it reminds me of myself whenever I go home from college, because I have no friends at home and I'm kinda lonely, so I wake up sometime in the afternoon and eat cereal and just stare out the window... haha. *sigh* I think this song is about loniless and how to deal with it. I don't know if it's supposed to be Jefferson Airplane (the band) or Jefferson Aero Plane... (what is that?). It's spelt both ways in the lyrics. "And it seems to get much colder When you cry on your own shoulder" That is just genius. | |

| Originaly I just thought it was a cool song, but after I went through a break up it meant so much more to me. "Never said nothin with flowers....." It's like, he never went out of his way to show her he cared but he thought it was obvious when they talked so often. And later, she's getting over him (kiss your face you try to deck mine) but he wants to "leave what [they] undid undone" but he's not going to complain, he's going to try to hide his hurt (just put on a sweater and go) I can relate | |

| jefferson aeroplane is not just a band, it is a metaphor for the last little bit of a joint that you have to use the matchsticks to hold becuase its too hot.. this song is about someone being on drugs (up and downs) and once they realise that they dont need them its a lot better | |

| SwimAndy that seems about exactly right...I guess I took it more literally, but now that I think about it the "surgery" works better as a metaphor. But if being cold is a metaphor for loneliness, why does he say "'cause when it's colder, I feel much better"? Is it just that he's realizing how much he pities himself? | |

| This song is marvelous...very in depth and inspiring. After going through a rough break up it made me feel as if i wasn't alone...and that we should not dwell on breakups and brace ourselves and just go on with our lives and our dreams. Putting on a sweater is the best metaphorical quote to represent the aspect of moving on and startign to notice the beauty in the world even thou you may feel down. Love RK!!! | |

| I don't know if it's about a breakup. It could be about a friend that he likes, but he doesn't think she likes him. Because they're such good friends, he's afraid of doing anything to screw up their friendship, so he's "never said nothing with flowers", even though they always "talked for hours". It sounds like she cries on his shoulder, but he can't tell her that he likes her, so he only has his own shoulder to cry on. He's "trapped and enclosed" by his feelings and their friendship. All he wants is to spend time with her, so he hides what he feels, throws on a sweater and goes. But when he gets home, all he wants to do is eat cereal to comfort himself and stare out the window, thinking of her. He wants to change into the kind of guy she likes, hence all the stuff about surgery. He's protective of her, saving her "plunging neckline", telling her to skip the rave. But she ignores him, only having eyes for other guys. He still can't tell her how he feels, so he'll just tag along with her and not say anything because the show must go on as it has been, so they can keep their friendship. | |

| Amazing song... very confusing on the meaning, but i'm going to give my take on this.... Most of their songs are about God and stuff, but i really think this one is about a girl... "You wear skirts, I write nice letters".... i think it's about a relationship breakup... the first part (like paragraph) is about having to get over it because he realizes he shouldn't have to dwell on a girl... then the second part is about the break up he's saying it's like colder because he's alone, and that he likes to pity himself and cry on his own shoulder... but then he's saying that he has to get over it again and "just throw on a sweater and go"... the third part is saying how he's having a change of heart and he's just contemplating about the relationship and everything that went wrong (staring out his window while eating cereal)... then the fourth part is about him still liking her and how much he likes her even though she doesn't like him "i'll kiss your face you try to deck mine".. but he knows he still has to get over her so once again at the end of the fourth part he says "Guess I know, guess i'll throw on" like he knows he needs to get over her even though he doesn't want to... the fifth part is about how's he's trapped into liking her even though he wants to escape it (he kinda has to know he should) but at the end he's ready to forget her again..... the sixth part is about him knowing he desperately needing to change and he relates it to needing a surgery, and at the end of the sixth part he is contemplating about it again (even though the first time he thought about it he still couldn't get over her... the seventh part is about him contemplating about how confusing she is and he's been thinking about it alot (bags under his eyes) and then he realizes he needs to get his other priorities straight and not worry about the girl, like becoming a better friend, a better person, a better son (like to god)..... the eigth part he has finally gotten over the girl and now he is focusing on god like he should have in the first place.... then the last two parts are about how he has change and he hopes the new him shows and then he realizes he doesn't need anything else but god ...... that's my take people, tell me if u think that is close at all, lol | |
