Just listen to the politician wishing his position wasn't missing everything
his heart would like to say and a constant in the constitution is that there
cant be one solution it'd be so far from the truth and we would hate it anyway
opinions are immunity to being told you're wrong paper rock and scissors they
all have their pros and cons
and all of us we will endure just like we always have but you just can't be too
sure how long this will last cause we control the chaos in the back of our minds
our problems seem so small but they grow on us like gravity but gravity still
makes us fall
well, that's it, enjoy!

| I love this song. I like the idea about 'paper, rock, and sissors' being the 3 branches of government. It could easily be about the US government not working for much longer. Isn't that how politicians are now? Doesn't it seem like people in office are more concerned about their image and what will get them reelected than doing the right thing? What happened to fighting for what you believe? I wish this song was longer. It'd be a HUGE political statement--not just to the government, but also to society in general. | |

| I totally agree with this^^ And I also agree with the comparison of politicians and Christians- sometimes Christians too easily give into what the world tells them is right instead of what God and their heart says. | |

| the first part is missing some words... "Just listen to the politican wishing his position ((wan't missing everything his heart would)) like to say " I think this is the first (or one of the only) songs of semi-politicalness they've done... "Paper, rock, and scissors they all have their pros and cons " Like the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the US government. Balance of power, checks and balances. "And all of us we will endure Just like we always have But you just can't be too sure How long this will last " I think... "us" means the people living in America. "this" means the government, or our way of doing it? "Cause we control the chaos In the back of our minds Our problems seem so small But the grow on us like gravity But gravity still makes us fall" Problems in the government that seem to small to them but are in reality important, that the government has been distracted from or has and keeps putting off until later, and eventually they'll catch up and something bad will happen. | |

| "opinions are immunity to being told your wrong" is my fave line cause, it's bout how we can't really say anyhting's right cause thats discriminative or something... we're all allowed to have our own opinion which is kinda stupid cause it means you can't tell someone if they're wrong... or something like that... if i made any sense... "constant in the constitution is that there can't be one sloution" says the same thing... | |

| I agree with leibherk that this song is political. I think the title is a reference to voting; we place our votes (bets) on politicians who can't really listen to their hearts and do what they feel is right; instead they have to go along with whatever their respective political parties say. Politicians/the government are "dead horses." | |

| I think that this song isn't so much political and moreso using politics as a metaphor to Christians struggles in life. Politicians control our country, but politicians can't (or don't) listen to their heart, or else they won't get elected. And no matter what the law is, someone is going to pissed about it. Then it talks about opinions and how people have different opinions and even if the opinion is wrong, it can't be changed. I think that paper rock and scisors refer to choices that we make in life, how there are always pros and cons. Then, even with all of these problems, life will continue to go on, but we don't even know how long life is going to be (But you just can't be too sure How long this will last). We control all of these thoughts in our heads (we control the chaos in the back of our minds). We think that these problems are small, but they aren't (last three lines). Anyway, the world has all of these problems today and the only solution is God. He can fix these things and we can't do anything about them. | |
