Home R Rembrandts Biography

Band Picture

The Rembrandts are a band formed by Phil Sōlem and Danny Wilde in 1989. They had previously worked together under the name Great Buildings in 1981.

The Rembrandts are most famous for the song " I'll Be There for You," the theme for the popular sitcom Friends. It reached #17 on the U.S. Billboard charts, despite never being released as a single. The single has been released in other territories, including the UK, where they went to number 3 in 1995 and number 5 in 1997. The success of Friends has led to a greater awareness of the band and therefore sales of their self-penned material. They also had an earlier hit, "Just the Way It Is, Baby" in 1990.

They disbanded in 1997, but reunited in 2000 and recorded a new album called Lost Together, which was released May 12, 2001.
