Subject: Vapour Trail, by Ride
I doubt that anyone out there has even heard of Ride, but if you have maybe you
will like this tab. This is unquestionably their best song...here it goes.

- Well, that's basically it. To properly simulate the sound on the "Nowhere"
CD, you'll need to buy a flanger and either a chorus or a compressor, and a
cello while your at it. :)
First you look so strong,
Then you fade away,
The sun will blind my eyes,
I'll love you anyway,
Thirsting for your smile,
I loved you for a while,
You are a vapour trail,
In a deep, blue sky,
la la la laaaaah
Tremble with a sigh,
Glitter in your eye,
You seem to come and go,
I never seem to know,
And all my time,
Is yours as much as mine,
We never have enough time to show our love...
la la la laaaaah

| It's in the way that the tone doesn't seem to be happy or sad...it seems uplifting at time, and at others it seems like a kind of hopeless, whistful reflection. I totally know what velmaxcorgan is talking about - sometimes, I wish I could be alone more often to enjoy this song (being in highschool, it's hard to escape). But I love walking alone on those cold, moonlit nights, with this song. It's just so...right. Anyway, lyrically it needs no explanation. The words themselves aren't important - Andy's voice speaks more in tone than words ever will. It's a shame he ended up in Oasis, of all bands. And yeah, I'm gonna buy the book too, just cause you guys told me to. Cheers! | |

| i have this imagery of a beautiful 'deep blue sky' day with the song's persona sitting down (or riding in a car, down the freeway) as he/she ruminates about his/her relationship with the object of the song. but in essence, i really think this song is a beautiful piece on the transient aspect of love. the seemingly (bitter)sweet melancholy illuminates the pure bliss that one feels when listening to this song. i honestly love this song. and i have to buy this book everyone seems to be talking about here. | |

| I used to have a friend who lived by me, and our apartment complexes were seperated by a golf course. There were many nights when I listened to this song on my walkman, in the cold breeze of the night. Just me, the stars, and this AMAZING song. I just can't tell you what this song does to me. I feel bliss...the bliss that comes from falling in love. I also feel a little longing, because I wish I had someone to share this song with. Oh, and the end when everything drops out and it's just the viola (I've been told it's a viola...I'm not too literate on string instruments)...oh my god. The song just enters a new dimension of beauty and feeling. God, this song is amazing. I get choked up every time I listen to it. | |

| Nice words sweetness. I cant really decide if the lyrics are sad or trying to be an expression of love. Well, obviously they are an expression of love. But is the about the end of a loveship, or one in instability? hmmm. It IS one of the most delicately beautiful love songs ive ever heard. And it does make me sad. | |

| I am like punkybun46, whenever I hear this song I think of Sam standing up in the back of a picktruck going through a tunnel as illustrated in The Perks of Being A Wallflower. I myself play it when I go through the tunnel that leads to the skyline of Chicago and when I do "I feel infinate" | |

| I discovered this song through Perks also.. that is the best book, truely.. it was so... real, for lack of a better word. "I feel infinite" when I listen to the songs on the mixtape that Charlie made for Patrick. "We accept the love we think we deserve" is truely the best quote from the book, in my opinion. | |
