Tabbed By: Chris Pickett
Key: C (of course)

Verse Progression: C G F C G F E F E G
Chorus Progression: C F C F C G F C
Bridge(Trumpets) Progression: C F G

C G F
If you're scared and it shows cause you're watching them grow
C G F
and traveling blows when you're out of road
E F E G
and when you jump up the earth wants you back

C G F
Your resentment grows till you're all alone
C G F
but you're so smart how could they not know
E F E G
when you're standing there in good humored white

C F
And how do you do it?
C
And make it seem effortless
F
When its all the stupid things
C
So overwhelming to me
G
Like paying my bills
F
Or showing up for work early
C
Or laughing at your jokes

C G F
When you first said that anything goes
C G F
or a problems a task disguised in work clothes
E F E G
and that's when I knew that I had to move

C F
and why you do it?
C
and make it seem delicate
F
when its all the stupid things
C
so *** confusing to me
G
like talking it through
F
controlling my temper
G
like letting it go
F
saying please forgive me
C
For laughing at your jokes

F C G
I have no idea what's been going on lately
F C G
and I just wish you'd come over and explain things

C F
Why do they do it?
C
show up anyway
F
when they know that *** well
C
theres no room for promotions out here
G
and maybe it's wise
F
and maybe i'm just stupid
C
for laughing at your jokes

Repeat Bridge/Trumpet Interlude to end.

Freaking great song. athough its "good humored white" not "wides" It's a reference to old The Good Humor Ice cream truck drivers. All in white :-)

Actually, this is just "Plane Crash in C", "Variations on a Theme (Plane Crash in C)" has no words, it's just a small horn part of the song that they added on.

I have no idea what's going on lately, and I just wish you would come over and explain things. And I have on idea what's going on lately, and I just wish you would come over and explain things. And I have no idea what's been going on lately, and I just wish you would come over and explain things. YES YES YES YES HOLY SHIT, this has been one of my favorite songs ever since the album was released, and you know what, it's insane how it's always remained one I can relate to, even this long after first hearing it. I'm not a huge RK fan but there are a few songs that really dug right into the center of my heart and stayed there. to me this song is the narrator being preached at by one of those know-it-all types who is making her feel like she's an idiot for not behaving the same way they do. they're talking about all of the ways she's in the wrong, all the while not even touching on the things that they have done wrong themselves, and she's like "I get it, you think those things are what's wrong with me, but I have no idea what the fuck *your* problem is, and I wish you'd just come over and explain *THAT*!"
