This song is one of my faves ever. It definitely wins the "Coolest Moment in Any Song" for the part where the music gets real quiet and then busts out in that high pitched solo.

the way i see it..it's about a long distance relationship. they travel by telephone because that's the only way they can communicate..and a fight makes long distance seem impossible. they're wondering if it's over or if it brought them closer together..because when all you have is the phone it's impossible to tell the difference. or maybe that's what i see because i just recently went through the same thing.

In fact this whole song is composed of cool bits, really...the bit where the intro bursts into the really heavy riff's my favourite bit.

there's something quite haunting about this song. from what i get from it i think its about a couple that have a fight and the girl hits the guy. he's not sure what to make of it now that he's seen this completely different side to his partner. the line ' i wouldn't hurt you at all if i didn't have to' shows that this relationship is based around a level of violence, and the guy doesn't want it to be, and wants to 'make it clean'.
