Am C
Please slow it down
Am
There’s a secret magic password
G F
That you only notice when you’re looking back at it
G C
And all I wanna do is turn around
E Am G F
I'm going down to sleep on the bottom of the ocean
C G C
Cause I couldn’t let go of the water at the setting sun
F C
Passing white daisies, taking turns
E Am
Close the door walk to the street
F C
Catching raindrops on your tongue
E Am G F
And for a minute it all stops
C G C
But it won’t last man, just a passing moment gone
Am C
Please slow it down
Am
There’s a secret place that I know
G F
If I could a dig a grave I’d then climb underground for good
G C
And all I wanna do is turn around
E Am G F
I'm going down to sleep on the bottom of the ocean
C G C
Cause I couldn’t let go of the water at the setting sun
F C
Passing white daisies, taking turns
E Am F C
All those evenings on the back deck of our first apartment
E Am G F
They meant everything but the wind just carried them off
C G C
And you can’t go back now, just a passing moment gone
Am C
Please slow it down
Am
There’s a secret magic password
G F
That you only notice when you’re looking back at it
G C
And all I wanna do is turn around
E Am G F
I'm going down to sleep on the bottom of the ocean
C G Am F
Cause I couldn’t let go of the water at the setting sun
C G C
Cause I couldn’t let go of the passing moment gone

| I can't decide ... is it about getting over someone becuase they passed, or because they broke up? I love the line "all I want to do is turn around." Turn around literally and metaphorically. But it was just a "passing moment gone." | |

| now whenever you listen to a song you usually kind of think "oh this relates to me so much" well I really can relate to this song moreso than others in my opinion, of course, its about the time passing and we're all too helpless to stop it and enjoy life at the present moment thats what makes life somewhat tragic all you'll ever have is memories and the present will never live up to those memories that you can never revisit so it can either be seen as a celebration of the present or a melancholy look at life and how passing time kills every happy emotion you feel | |

| I think it's about missing that blissful time at the beginning of a relationship. Maybe things have gone bad and now he's looking back and not wanting to let go. | |

| the song is definately not about breaking up with somebody, let alone getting over somebody. its merely about not taking in the present and only having memories to fall back on. "there's a secret magic past world that you only notice when you're looking back at it " this line says it all --- you dont think about the things when they happened, but rather by having to look back at them. by doing so (thinking about them at a later time) you see their true beauty. "because I couldn't let go when the water hit the setting sun " he doesn't want to let go of what is happening at that moment, knowing all he'll have left to do is remember it. "there's a secret place that I know where I could dig a grave and climb underground for good" he's regretting not capturing present time for what its worth. | |

| love it. i really like m/rockthecasbahm/'s thought on getting over someone, that could relate to it as well. i think it is about enjoying the moment, living life for all that it is and appreciating each detail as it happens. its so sad how much sweeter life is when we reflect back on our memories instead of while we are going through the emotions. | |
