Verse (same as intro)
Angie, Angie
When will those clouds all disappear
Angie, Angie
Where were the ladies from here

Chorus
G
With no loving in our souls
Dm Am
and no money in our coats
C F G
Oh you can't say we're satisfied

Verse
Angie, Angie
Oh you can't say we never tried
Angie, you're beautiful
but ain't it time we said goodbye
Angie, I still love you baby
Remember all those nights we cried

Chorus
All the dreams we held so close
Seem to all go up in smoke
Oh let me whisper in your ear

Verse
Angie, Angie
Where were the ladies from here

Solo

Chorus
All the dreams we held so close
Seem to all go up in smoke
Oh let me whisper in your ear

Dm Am
but Angie, I still love you baby
Dm Am
Every where I look I see your eyes
Dm Am
There ain't a woman that comes close to you
C F G
Come on baby dry your eyes

Angie, Angie
Ain't it good to be alive
Angie, Angie
you can't say we never tried

Once Keith Richard's said that he wrote this song when his daughter Angela was born, but he never admited that till recently cause he used to say he's not the type of guy "who goes writing about his babies".

this song has held a lot more meaning for me in the past few months. i think that it just hurts him too much to try to love her. i know what that's like. i don't think that this song could have ever been bowies, listen to mick jaggers voice and tell me that he hasn't lived every word of that song.

this song is amazing. it's been rumored to have been written one day previous to the divorce of mick jagger and his wife "angie." i think he's saying that he loves her but they can't be together anymore.

Yea Kate, the feeling I can imagine is similar to what you are feeling. It's just such a beautifully sad song.
