-Thank you to Vincent M. Veltri(veltri@vnet.ibm.com) for originally
posting the lyrics.
This is my first attempt at tabbing/chording of an entire song, so it's
not quite the whole thing. Anyway, it should help.

| If I remember right, this is the song that the Verve played backwards for "Bittersweet Symphony," or whatever that song was. Anyways, the Verve is full of dickheads, and this is one of my favorite Stones songs. | |

| OpinionHead, I think it's pretty cool that this is your favorite song since it was the first original song that Mick and Keith wrote together. Keith said in an interview that their manager at the time (Andrew Oldham) told them, "How many obscure great songs can find to cover?" He then locked Mick and Keith in a room and told them not to come out until they had a song. Keith said they came out with "The Last Time". Oh well, I like the song too.. | |

| The first two lines are this: Well I told you once and I told you twice But ya never listen to my advice... Those are the correct words... This is my favorite Stones song of all time...it's simple and to the point. There is mish-mashing of words and no embellishing of the music. The guitar solo about two thirds of the way through is fluid and fits the tune really well. It's an awesome tune about depression and breaking up. Too bad this kind of music has had a falling out with the masses. | |

| this song has always held a big place in my heart, for centimential reasons (you know when a song just puts you right back into a place and time) and for the fact that i just rocks. i love the riff and the vocals... i agree, an under-rated stones classic. | |

| The most underrated Stones song. I love this bombastic arrangement very much; it's amazing! This song is as good as Pait it Black, Angie, She's a Rainbow, Lady Jane, which are some of my all-time favourites. | |

| My first post and I screw up a sentence! Andrew Oldham told them, "How many obscure great songs can You find to cover?" Or at least something to that effect. I have to tell you that there's something to be said for this technique. You truly don't know what you're capable of until you force yourself (or forced by someone else in this case!) to give it a serious try. As a huge Stones fan, I'm really glad Andrew Oldham locked those two in that room all those years ago... | |

| The Last Time still rocks and shivers with only three chords. The Stones captured the essence of deep south blues in a few minutes of hypnotic rhythm. The signature lick is Keith Richard's tribute to the Delta Blues. He transformed that E7 chord riff into a spell binding voodo shuffle. It doesn't get any better. | |
