I really don't think they abused anybody, I think its simply a blues song written by the Rolling Stones that's talking about a girl who left who one of them still loved, (or it could just be a song) and he's praying that whoever she's with now treats her well. He's got the blues for her, it's like he's craving her, but she's not there.

Seems like he abused her, and now that she's left him hes got the blues. Possibly relating to Brian Jones beating up his girlfriend at the time. Who later married Keith Richards.
