Play 2x.. listen to the song it's pretty easy.

Verse: Since you play the intro twice.. the second time you play it is when he

not hard just listen to the song. Then:

Same for second verse and second chorus.

The Bridge is the same thing as the first part of the verse. Just with a slight diff end

she told me i would date her from september to december -i read that as planned suicide. she kept all the pain inside now she has got nothing to hide -she had issues but she didn't want to upset anyone by telling them/she thought she had to appear perfect

is there a background sound of a girl screaming in this track or was that just my imagination?

For those of you wondering if this song is based on a true story, here's Taylor's comment from an interview in 2003: "Q: How come the band decided to change "That Girl Has Love" from its original title? A: the story in that song is a true one. we wanted to remove her name from the title because we didn't want to upset her family and because it makes the song more universal. we like using our choruses as titles because thats the logical thing to do in pop music."

I believe that this song is about a girl who committed suicide at 17. She had what looked to be a perfect life - great family, great friends, a boyfriend who cared, basically all around a lot of love. She was probably a confident girl - she told the singer that she would date him "from september to december." Yet, even with all of this, she didn't see the good in life. No one knew though, but after she kills herself she "has nothing to hide" and now sees things that only come in dreams as she is dead. The relationship was so real and raw that the singer can never forget it, it could never be fake. Her family, friends, and all that loved and still love her will always think of her as 17 - thus, "she'll always be seventeen."

I think this song is about a girl (that he dated) that ended her life too quickly. And she couldnt see all the good things in her life and all the people that loved her. she will always be remembered as 17.

i think nothingelsecompares is right. this song didn't at first, but now it reminds me of one of my best friends, a girl who is smart, attractive, funny, and she is awesome at guitar and singing, she could get famous because of her vocal and guitar skills, but i was talking to her about me being depressed and she said that she knew how i felt, and i asked her how she knew and she showed me the underside of her arm where she cuts herself, and it shocked me so much, i just about cry whenever i hear this song or think about her

to me.. this song isnt about a girl who killed herself. i think it is something beneath it all. i think it is about a girl who fell in love and she gave all of herself and then it was over. and she lost all of herself to the person she gave all her love to. they dont recoprocate now, so she has died inside since things have changed. she was naive when she was with the boy thinking it was forever but.. things change and people change. so she died inside, it wont be forgotten but shes gotta build herself up to the changes.
