	This is such a wonderful song..every time I hear the first notes of the song, I just got to stop everything to listen. Thanks ruben for the translation..it made me like the song even more. The all french version of the song is better than the one with the english chorus.

	actually, I'm pretty damn sure that the english translation isn't completely correct.. Chorus: The stairways up to la butte Can make the wreched sigh While windmill wings of the moulin shelter you and I that last bit, it's just wrong. i know Rufus Wainwright sings it that way, but that's just to make it rhyme. accurate translations are the stairways from 'la butte' are hard on those who are miserable. the wings of the windmales protect those in love.. and there are some other flaws, but in general it's a pretty good translation. maybe, when i've got time, i'll translate the whole thing. maybe. and yes, Rufus sings a few thing different, and again, i'll try to sort it out some other time.

	This song is sung so beautifully and the lyrics are so beautiful, Moulin Rouge being one of my favorite films...I never knew Rufus sang this. Actually, I've seen the film over fifty times because I lost my cable and that is one of the only DVDs I have, and every time that song would come on I would completely relax. I've just recently started getting into Rufus...it's a cover, I know, and one of the best I've heard, even if it's in a language I don't speak.

	This is a beautiful song from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. I've done a pretty basic translation I'd like to share, but I must admit, I've never learned any French. This translation is mostly from Babelfish, and it's very literal. That said, the lyrics seem quite appropriate to the movie: The Moon too pale poses a tiara on your russet-red hair. 	Beautiful, beautifully sung song. Rufus' training in opera obviously came in handy for this piece and definitely shines through. I'm not sure if he is fluent in French or not but his pronounciation is wonderful. Even if you can't understand the words it's a great song to just listen to.

	This song is so beautiful! i love French and French music! anyone else who does should also listen to Edith Piaf (La Vie En Rose) and Yves Montand. they are both amazing. i saw this song performed in a dance company's performance and it was beautiful!
