Rush - A Farewell to Kings

From the CD 'A Farewell to Kings'
Written by Lee/Lifeson/Peart
Mercury/Polygram Records 822546-2

This constitutes about 90% of the song. I re-worked the
introduction, but it is still almost the same as the original by David
Sandberg (dts@quad.sialis.com). I have added some new parts below.
Unfortunately, the entire middle section of the song is missing in this
tab. It was just too difficult for me to transcribe. The intro is in the
key of D, then switches to A. It ends in D after the last set of lyrics.

Jimmy Pena - jimmy@walrus.com

| = not a standard bar line; just used to separate music
~ = vibrato or held note
h = hammer on
p = pull off
s = slide
b = bend string up to indicated pitch/fret
r = release bend to indicated string/fret

[x35553] = fret box; this is a C chord - this is the same as standard
tablature, only turned on its side. Tilt your head clockwise to read.

It doesn't even only apply to politicians. It can be some head of a corporation who wants nothing but money. We have shelved cars that run soley on vegetable oil and mere garbage and are millions of times more effecient, because we want the income from gas money. It's sickening, and Neil hits the nail on the head... like always.

I think this song is saying that society is dumb, and we do not respect smart people. It is saying that we don't challenge ourselves and do what's easiest rather than productive, or take the "path of least resistance." It is saying that we need to put the wise back in position as head of society rather than scoff at them.
