Rush - Lakeside Park
From the CD 'Caress of Steel'
Written by Lee/Lifeson/Peart
Mercury/Polygram Records 822543-2
Thanks to WaveStudio, I was able to slow the song down and tab the
solo right. Now it's definitely correct. Thanks to Rich Soto
for some corrections.

Progression:
[Riff 1] x2
[Riff 1] x4 /w lyrics:
Midway hawkers calling, "Try your luck with me."
Merry-go-round wheezing the same old melody.
A thousand ten-cent wonders, who could ask for more.
A pocketful of silver, the key to heaven's door.
[Riff 2] x4 /w lyrics:
Lakeside Park, willows in the breeze.
Lakeside Park, so many memories.
Laughing rides, midway lights,
shining stars on summer nights.
[Riff 3] x1
[Riff 1] x2
[Riff 1] x4 /w lyrics:
Days of barefoot freedom, racing with the waves.
Nights of starlit secrets, crackling driftwood flames.
Drinking by the lighthouse, smoking on the pier,
Still, we saw the magic was fading every year.

[Riff 4] x2 /w lyrics:
Everyone would gather on the 24th of May,
sitting in the sand to watch the fireworks display.
Dancing fires on the beach, singing songs together;
Though it's just a memory, some mem'ries last forever.
[Riff 4] until end (repeat last section 3x)

| This was my favorite Rish song for a while... 2112 and possibly the Spirit of Radio have replaced it, but it's still such an awesome song. Makes me wish could play guitar... | |

| Classic song from Caress of Steel. Kinda reminds me of Zeppelin, sort of like Over the Hills and Far Away. Surprised noone has commented. Maybe because everyone underrates this solid precursor to their masterpiece "2112". | |

| This song was inspired by where Neil used to work. When he was in his late teens he took up a job at the fairgrounds there.. "Midway hawkers calling "Try your luck with me." Merry-go-round wheezing same old melody. A thousand ten-cent wonders, who could ask for more. A pocketful of silver, the key to heaven's door. " Try your luck with me/ --obviously stating about his jobs, which were the Ball Toss and the Bubble Game. A pocketfull of silver was all you needed to have fun, hence a key to heavens door. I really like the song. It has such a nice melody. I don't know about riffs or guitars or anything like that, but it is really just a nice put together song. | |
