"It don't make no difference, escaping one last time"
"It's easier to believe"
"In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness"
"That brings me to my knees."
Definetely my own interpretation. Did not really work from Sarah's piano arrangement.
Which is awesome. But, apples and oranges. Thought the piece needed a bit more harmonic
color when played on guitar. Hope Sarah doesn't mind. "Added Bridge" is my own invention.
Disregard if you wish. Pretty though and provides a nice bridge from chorus 1 to verse 2.
Melody is stepwise except for 3rd down from Gto E at the end.

| Yup, I agree. This song is so beautiful and yet the music is so simple. Just her and the piano. "there's always one reason to feel not good enough and it's hard at the end of the day I need some distraction oh beautiful release" I totally identify with those lines. | |

| A couple of weeks ago I found out that the actor Glenn Quinn had died from a drug overdose. This affected me more than I ever thought possible-how can you grieve the death of someone you never even knew? But anyway, it hurt, and the only song that flew into my head was this one. The music, the lyrics are beautifully haunting and appropriate, as he really did "escape one last time." And I hope he has found comfort x | |

| This song is one of the most beautiful ever written and sung by Sarah. She has such an angelic voice filled with so much emotion. Her music truly touches my heart and soul. I dedicate this song to my grandmother who recently passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer and became very ill but fought it up until the very end. We hoped and prayed that a cure would be found; that she would be well again. This verse during that hard and difficult time expressed just what her and i had both desperately hoped for (A Second Chance) "Spend all your time waiting for that second chance for a break that would make it okay, there's always one reason to feel not good enough and its hard at the end of the day, I need some distraction, OH A BEAUTIFUL RELEASE. Overwhelmed by pain and despair, i watched her life slowly slipped away before me and now i am forever changed. She was such an inspiration to me in so many ways and is so deeply missed. Angel was her favorite song and i can still see her smile when i played it for her. This verse goes out to her "YOUR IN THE ARMS OF THE ANGEL, MAY YOU FIND SOME COMFORT THERE" You are now with the Angels. | |

| Beautiful song. To me, it's about losing someone... whether it be yourself or someone in your life. It's about feeling alone and empty. About things that you have done in the past that you now regret. About living in pain and fear and sorrow. Sarah is incredible. | |

| Yes, this is a beautiful song. Sarah basically wrote it for all those artists and people who died from drug overdoses. If you really read through the lyrics, you can understand what kind of escape and release she's talking about, and how it's so sad that people can find such peace in such sadness. An inherently sad but extremely beautiful piece of music. | |

| Although this is a very beautiful song, and I love it. I have found that this song is about a friend who has taken his life. It starts out saying "Spend all your time waiting for that second chance ,for a break that would make it okay" This means that a person has made a mistake and is waiting and waiting for a second chance. "There's always one reason to feel not good enough and it's hard at the end of the day..." For someone who is depressed, it is always the worst at the end of the day. Now this part is the singer thinking about the loss, "I need some distraction, oh beautiful release memory seeps from my veins let me be empty and weightless" The last line says "and maybe I'll find some peace tonight " Meaning the singer knows that her friend is in a safe place now... in the arms of an angel, so she can find peace. The chorus goes as follows: "In the arms of an angel, fly away from here. from this dark cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear. you are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie, you're in the arms of the angel may you find some comfort there" The person who has passed is with an angel. And the singer is remembering the loss in her room, which een if crowded, her hotel room would be empty, dark and cold. The dead person is now free from all burdens, troubles and problem, and will find comfort in the arms of the angel. | |

| This song mean a lot to me!!! I dedicate this song to my brother Todd. He was shot & killed on 10/17/01. He was only 31 and battled with drugs for many years. We had our ups & downs...but the last couple of months before he died.. he was being the big brother that I always wanted & NEEDED! He was truly making an effort to be there for me and seemed to be a new person until the night before he died. Even though I've experienced a lot of people dying in my life...the loss of my brother causes pain deeper than I ever knew could exist! He was my only brother & sibling. He was always a good person and an EXCELLENT dad to his 4 yr. old son...but he just had a problem that he couldn't control. The drugs made him a different person and he lost his temper in an arguement regarding his son which ended with someone shooting him. I blame no one particularly for his death...but everyone involved was wrong! This song means so much to me and especially the verse "You're in the arms of the angels...May you find some comfort there". Todd...I will love and miss you always! Rest in peace big bro...and always know that I will keep your memories and love alive in Jeffrey's heart! I won't let him forget what a good Daddy you were! Keep sending me your messages...I hear them and I appreciate you letting me know you're still with me!!! | |

| did sarah actually gave permission to let westlife sing the song. their version is absolutely hideous. this song is about connection, the ability to touch different in so many different ways. it can mean a lot of things: drug addiction, death, comfort, hope.... and the song is nothing without sarah's voice (though she wrote the song, it still feels incomplete without her singing it). i have nothing against westlife, but their version rapes the song from its essence. | |

| Every time I hear this song, I am reminded of my friend Jake, who passed away a few years ago, due to cancer. He was only 15. The chorus reminds me of him the most, because I know he's in Heaven, in the arms of an Angel, being comforted after all of the pain he endured while he was alive. I also feel that he is my angel some days. He was a stronger person than I know I could ever be, not matter how long I live. This song was a comfort when he died, but it also made things harder knowing he was gone. Not a day goes by that I dont' think of him. He was an amazing person, and there will always be a place for him in my heart. | |

| this is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard, and to me its about youth suicide... "So tired of the straight line and everywhere you turn there's vultures and thieves at your back and the storm keeps on twisting you keep on building the lie that you make up for all that you lack it don't make no difference escaping one last time" this is showing that a person is spiraling down deeper and deeper into depression, and the "escaping one last time" shows that the person has been cutting and the last time is when they finally kill themselves. When a person cuts themself, they get a rush, and this can become addictive... i know this because i've been there... i managed to pull out of that spiral, but there are others who aren't so lucky... | |
