| This is one of the best songs ever, musically and lyrically! Its amazing how he's taken such a complex issue, and transformed it into such a beautiful song, removing most of the ugliness of the topic itself! | |

| Gabigs is absolutely right. The vocal track on the album is the first take they did one the song. They recorded it a few times, but none of the tracks had as much feeling in them as the first one, so they stuck with that one. I read in an article by Darren Hayes that one line in this song is supposed to sum up the whole album. "There is hope in the darkness, you know you're going to make it." | |

| This song saddens me so much....because it tells of something that unfortunately exists all too commonly: domestic violence. I had a friend who would cry silently every time she heard the song...her former boyfriend is now in jail because of how he assaulted her physically and sexually. But this is a very deep song, the peaceful music belies the darkness of the lyrics' implications. | |

| Its weird because the meaning of this song is clear, tlking about violence and the effect of it and how a women deals with it, but i believe it just means come on you can get through this, it is really powerful and that no matter what keep ur head up because good times will come, but i believe this duo where amazing and they captured so much in their lyrics and its one albumn that i i can listen to and not skip tracks because all their work is formidable!:P:) | |

| I think that the meaning is pretty clear. Its a story, of a women who is being abused in her relationship. She is looking back on a time in her life when she took her kids and stayed in a hotel, trying to escape. She knew that she needed to go back though, because she wouldnt be able to support herself and her children without him. The song is from the perspective that she is now stronger, and made it through. She is looking back | |

| This song is pretty self-explanatory. It's about a woman who is in an abusive relationship. She has run away with her children and must form complex stories about her life so nothing will happen. This song also is kind of a "push" to keep her going. The title refers to a hotel room they must stay in with two beds and a coffee machine. | |

| This piece of music is so melodically perfect, you would think that it was written by the muse of music itself. This group knows how to use a soulful melody and put a haunting harmony to the background. | |

| Everytime the strings come in, it makes me cry. I can relate to this song 110%. "silent fortress built to last" this has always stood out for me. The need to be so strong about everything, and keep it all hush-hush so that no one knows about it. Absolutely gorgeous. The lyrics, the music, the raw emotion behind it. This song saved my life. | Beautiful, I heard it was recorded the first time he sung it, that's why you can still feel the way Darren is touched by it...you can sense it in his voice. And it is self-explainatory, but I'd like to add that Darren's dad used to beat him as a child, being an alcoholic, but then he recovered. It also makes me feel melancholic about how fast our lives go by...We know it, and still can do nothing to change it. "And the years go by so fast...silent fortress built to last...wonder how I ever made it..." :'( | |

| Man, this is a powerful song, but not in an aggresive way, ya know? The lyrics are basically speaking about reality. & Daniel on the piano is wonderful. | |
