All That I Bleed

by: Savatage

From the album "Edge of Thorns"

Bb F Eb F Bb F Eb F
Someone got themselves a letter in the mail the other day.

Bb F Eb F Bb F Eb
It's al-----ready worn and tattered and I guess it gives away.

Cm Bb Cm F F9 F
All the things we keep inside. All the things that really mat---ter.

Cm Bb Cm F
The face puts on it's best disguise. And all is well until the

Bb F Eb F Bb F Eb F
heart betrays

Bb F Eb F Bb F Eb F
She knows as she reads the letter that things were bound to stray.

Bb F Eb F Bb F Eb F
Wind blows. She pulls her coat tighter and the letter flies aw-ay.

Cm Bb Cm F F9 F
With all the things she keeps inside. All the things that really mat-ter.

Cm Bb Cm F
The face puts on it's best disguise. And all is well until the

Bb
heart betrays.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Piano solo: Bb Gm Eb F Bb Gm Eb F (build up)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
---- This is one of my most favorite choruses from Savatage. The guitar and
bass do a walking pattern while the Bb chord is held out. The notes in
( ) are single notes not chords! Jam on!

Bb (A) (G) (F) Eb (D) (Eb)
Lord bring on the night.

Bb (A) (G) (A) (G) F
Wrap it all a---round me.

Bb (A) (G) (F) Eb (D) (Eb)
Let it hold me tight.

Bb (A) (G) (A) (G) F
Soak up all that I bleed.

Bb Dm Eb F
And I'll fly a----way.

Bb Dm Eb F
Yeah I'll fly a----way.

Bb Dm Eb
Lord I'll fly a----way.

F
Watch me!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The guitar solo is played over the chorus pattern.

(Repeat chorus)

Bb F Eb F Bb
I Bleed!

All the things we keep inside All the things that really matter A face puts on it's best disguise And all is well until the heart betrays this song is powerful...and it makes me cry... i think it could also be about cutting, self-harm because thr girl has found out something possibly about someone she loved and there's no-one to tell it so she bottles it up inside for so long her feelings have to be vented in some way and that's the way she chooses.

To me, and the above comment, I agree, it's a powerful song, but in my own interpretation, I think it's a promised suicide. As if someone he loved were to receive his suicide note. A few sad song, but nevertheless, one of my favorites

I think it tells the story of a girl who puts on a mask to hide her true feelings for someone, however whaterver is in this letter she recieves from this person has such an affect on her that she can no longer contain her feelings

Someone thought a relationship could happen and it didn't. OR A widow recieving a letter of a lost husband in a war. Could be either, I think it's the former, not the latter, but ehn.
