Does anyone know if his parents are divorced, or what their family situation was? I know they were kind of wealthy living in princeton with a lawyer and a judge as parents, and from what ive heard he has a sister named kate? anyone have more info?

you know, i really used to like this song when i was a teenager, and i could make the argument that it is my favorite saves the day song. but the other day i re-listened to the the can't slow down album after so many years and i noticed that this song still sticks out head and shoulders above the rest...but in the most suspect way. the lyrics to this song are far too well written and completely out of step stylistically with the rest of the album. they're subtle, clever, poetic and void of any of the awkward teenage histrionics that plague the other songs on the record. i'd really like to believe that chris wrote them himself, but i feel it's more likely that he borrowed heavily from another source.

yeah my mom is like clinically insane among other things and the whole song just really hits home for me its seems like i could relate to every line and the brick thing at the end is just really well put considering he wrote most of CSD at 16-17 years old its pretty damn good not because of that but its just good i love this song i love every saves the day song but this one is really true to me

This song is by far the most powerful to me... I kinda had some problems with my dad while i was growing up and i still have all this bitter ass tension with him... so this song really helps me get out my anger... if i could go back ... i would also be a "brick"

I love Saves The Day, always have since the beginning, and this song is definitly one of my favorites, since the lyrics stand out so much than any other STD song. I Heart saves the day

These lyrics are some of the most personal and touching of STD's. This song is not my favorite saves the day song because musically, it's not their strongest, but the lyrics catch me off guard every time.

This song is really good because of the lines: "I always knew there wasn't glue strong enough to sew these roots together." A lot of families don't stay together now a days and that's a really sad fact.

this song makes me cry because everything he says i can exactly relate to my parents divorced when i was 10, and me and my brother were split between parents. it sucked so bad, and it still does. i always wish i could be little again so i could enjoy those 'happy' times while they lasted

I love how Chris expresses his feelings. No one could better explain the feelings he (and most of us) has when it comes to anything, let alone parents. When we don't know how to put it into words, Chris says it for us.

i think that he had a "sub-par" relationship with his parents and didnt enjoy life at home. So he was pissed and felt like taking his anger out on something, like a window!

I love the line "the need for a song to sing me to sleep still rings true". I'm not from a broken home, but my parents are very neglectful and uninvolved. I could set my self on fire and they would not care.
