| This song means whatever you want it to mean, just like every song. To each his(her) own i guess. I say its about Chris is trying to make friends and stuff, but they have a bad impression of him because "nick" is telling everyone that Chris is a "deceptive" and a "fool". I've had this happen to me, where one of my friends went behind my back and told everyone crap about me. ANYWAYS, thats what i feel this song is about, suckas. | |

| i don't know what the song means, but the part where chris says: I think I'll make him eat the ground I think that I will turn around and notice the wind blowing tops of trees I'll see the way the world begins to need color everywhere And I'll realize how small I really am And then I'll spin right back around And say, "Nick, why are you such a prick?" now that's just good stuff. i don't know about all you guys but i do that a lot. being intent on something, then get lost in thought for just a second, then snap back. | |

| I like linzy279's meaning and it makes a lot of sense to me. But I read in an interview w/ STD that during the short time Chris was in college, he had a roomate named Nick who was a "prick" and that's where the song came from. Anyway. This is definitely not the best song on the CD but I love the title! I used to want to please everyone and couldn't stand it when someone didn't like me b/c it was such a big dealto me. Eventually I learned that I couldn't please everybody and all that really mattered was to be myself and the people who are worth pleasing, already love me just the way I am. So, damn it- "I'm through being cool." ROCK ON! | |

| yeah, Pathetic... that's a lame interpretation of this song. No offense. hehe... but yeah. I can't really tell you what the meaning of this song is. Only Chris Conley can. But I know that I've gone through what he makes it seem like he's going through. There was a point in my life where I felt I had to fit in and be "cool" but then I just gave up and got tired of being someone I wasn't. Yeah, the whole "through being cool" thing makes me glad I got tired of being cool. | |

| the lyrics are bad ass.......pretty much everything everyone said hit the nail on the head......i expected a lot different of a sound from the guitar, cause like, through being cool is the name of the cd, and everything, so i figured it'd be like a big huge bad ass "my fav song on the cd", and its not my fav, its not just hellla bad ass, the guitar riffs, and just the sound of the song, knda sounds off......i dunno, its hard to explain | |

| well actually.. i see it as being about 2 guys who were best friends who think they are cool in their own right ya know not necissarily in the 'incrowd' but cool and one guy all of a sudden gets popular and the other doesn't so thats why the ''realize how small I really am'' part. because hes by now alone. and he hates the other guy now bc he's pretending to be someone he really isnt he has became a ''prick'' and if thats what bein cool really is then he doesnt want to. he's through bein cool. i guess.. maybe i'm just different. | |
