I know that this song is about coming out to your mom, but it also is about getting her drunk. That way you got it over with and she doesn't care: "We'll get her jacked up on some cheap champagne We'll let the good times all roll out"

Hm, it could be a guy coming out to his mom, but it also's kinda like a gay anthem. Ah, fun, fun.

It's a sad song, and I agree that it's about a gay guy coming out of tyhe closet to his mother. it's something that really does happen, and it happened to one of my freinds. He came out to his parents, and his Dad just kind of ignored it, and his mother refused to beleive it. It must be hard to come out in the open to your parents, then to have them not accept it. It's bad enough the shit he gets for it at school.

I actually read an interveiw where the lead singer said it was about a gay guy coming out to his mum, and if you read between the lines you can tell. Great song.

I don't think this song is about the lead singer Jake Shears at all, I don't think he's gay! It prob is about a gay guy coming out but it's not him.I saw an interview with them once, Shears said they are all heterosexual, it's just their image that's camp!
