| I love this song. It seems to me that in this song the guy and his partner have all these obstacles that are getting in between them and he is asking her to try and overcome these obstacles with him. He saying that he would give up, but then he can't let her go because he's looking into their freedom in the future so he's asking her to try so they'll be happy again especially when it's just him and her without the troubles of life. Shorter; He wants her to help fight everything getting in between them. | |

| he wakes up cause of the scent of her perfume. he tries to get up on his on but he couldn't, he almost felt like he was about to die.."i'm almost alive" means that he is alive but in another world or dimmension..for him it's ok that he'll die cause he knows that whatever happens love will find a way..((But I know one day you and I will be free to live and die by our own rules)) despite the fact that people dont want them to be together...((despite the fact that men are fools)) at the 2nd stanza he's alost dying she wants to tell her that he'll be ok..but he couldn't and that's why he wants her to save him so he could say goodbye.. at the 4th stanza he's disappearing and she was trying to save him so she wrapped her arms around him but it wasn't working..."I got lost in your eyes now. you brought me down to size now"- then finally he was closing his eyes..he saw her eyes and it brought him down..and he disappeared.. nice song...hope ii interpreted it well..LOL. | |

| I think this song is about a guy that is on the verge of breaking up with his girlfriend because its not working out at the moment. The relationship is dying, but still, she is all he can think about and he knows deep down that its meant to be. | |

| I am so in love with this guy who's Secondhand Serenade...He is perfectly amazing! And this song spoke to me the very first time I heard it...I am going through a similar situation, but I think I interpreted it differently...I see it as he wants to be with this girl, but people are telling him he shouldn't for different reasons, hence the "despite the fact that men are fools." And there are just things stopping him from pursuing this girl, which sounds like it's bound to end in unrequited love.. Which is my name, ha. | |
