| to me my initial thought was that this song wasn't about saving your virginity for someone special. i think it's about girls and how they get emotional and attached to guys. the writer is asking the girl to save yourself for someone who really cares. save your feelings, save the heartbreak for someone who will actually give a damn about you | |

| Actually, I think this song is a questions why the girl or subject of the song didn't wait for our songwriter. Rather, she gave it up to some guy who A) wasn't him B) wasn't him. Look at the lines about his self esteem, and the lines regarding who loves who. My opinion, and absolutely take it to heart as a "wait and be smart" song, but I don't believe it is as righteous as first believed. Then again, I have been wrong before. | |

| i'm sure you're all probably very right about this song being about losing your virginity, but personally i'd rather interperet it to mean saving yourself for someone who loves you for you. period. i know too many people who settle for significant others that don't truly appreciate who they are. too me, this song has WAY more meaning that just sex. | |

| It knocks the wind out of me when I stop to think about a few facts about our society. Has anyone else checked the divorce rate recently? Or the number of abortions that happen every minute? Over 60% of people's first marriages end in divorce in this country. Thousands upon thousands of babies are murdered legally in cities across this nation every year. I for one agree very strongly with this song and its message of waiting, but just waiting isn't enough. It can't just be for someone you love, save yourself for the only person, the one person, the person you end up spending the rest of your life with. Save yourself for marriage. | |

| i agree that its about how so many people give themselves to people who they dont even know at all, and how it really affects us after its all over, and we realize our mistake. what do we even take away from these kinds of 'relationships'? all they are really based on usually are just a few hours of good feelings maybe, that mostly cause hurt to the people involved later. it sucks that so many of us let ourselves do it. i'm waiting, and its hard sometimes, but i know itll be worth it. | |
