The Irony of Dying on Your Birthday
Senses Fail
Off the album Let it Enfold You
tabbed by Daniel Miller
Flipskaterpsych@aol.com
This is one of my favorite songs on Let it Enfold You
The guitar isn't too tricky so if you're having any trouble just work on it and you'll
get it.
This tab definately isn't perfect but its close enough that you won't be able to hear
any difference.
Drop-D tuning

| I noticed someone else wrote down something about how senses fail had quoted joseph campbell in the song... but this song seems to be all about unoriginal writing. the lyrics: Colors Blind the eyes Flavors Numb the taste Thoughts weaken the mind this is from the ancient philosophy taoism. Those words are written in the Tao Te Ching. I don't know whether that's cool or not, considering it's senses fail. I like them, don't get me wrong, but they're a mediocre screamo band serving as a guilty pleasure to me, not worthy of comparing themselves to the likes of Jim Morisson and quoting the Tao Te Ching in their songs. | |

| this song never stops amazting me. The line uhm "And maybe I will write a sad song Or another clich poem Of the person that I long to be" is nothing more then a rip on the emo population. Duh. I think that this song is about how its not about being a rockstar or dieing like one, its about knowing who you are. You don't need "A pen, A pill, and some paper" you just need your cold raw feelings. Thats where "Colors blind The eyes" "Flavors numb The taste" "Thoughts weaken The mind" comes from right on | |

| It's about just how fleeting fame is and how hard Buddy struggled to become famous. Then I think he compares all the trouble he went through to the relatively small effort that a serial killer puts in for infamy. He makes a very good point, If someone asked me to name 3 serial killers I'd instantly think of Ted Bundy, Charlie Manson and Aileen Wuornos, asked to name 3 victims of these serial killers the best I could do is say: Roman Polanski's wife. I think he also suggests that he has comtemplated mass homicide for fame in the lines: "Maybe I will write a sad song, or another clichè poem, of the person that I long to be" and "I choose to be a serial killer 'cause the victims don't get any fame." | |
