| I just read The Da Vinci Code and they go off on tangents about how man and woman were meant to be equal in the first place. It wouldn't surprise if these guys understand what the sacred feminine means. | |

| Also, cumbersome doesn't mean "big", it means "unwieldy". A 50-pound brick of lead isn't necessarily large, but it's hard to carry because it weighs so much. A card table might only weight 15 pounds, but it has swinging legs and is quite broad. Both of these are unwieldy and cumbersome. I think that when he says "life is cumbersome", he is referring to the relationship and the various hoops they both must jump through, the dances and lies and all the other clap-trap that have become a part of it. Therefore, it isn't the pure thing that it began as, and it has become cumbersome. | |

| I get this whole song, except for the "arrow and a cross" reference - could somebody explain what the deal is with that? | |

| Well... I think this song is about being a burden to your g\f. It kinda describes right now to me... a girl i really like said she likes me... then didnt... then she did and she thinks she loves me after sumthing that happened. i was always there for her and would have given up the world for this girl but all she did was keep saying she likes this other guy i know and me. finally i find out that he likes her back... i was left in the dust | |

| What I personally get from this song is that this guy has cheated or has been doing something wrong to his girlfriend and he's saying he wishes he could make things ok again but she won't forgot about it and because of this he is a burden to her. | |

| I'm pretty sure the words are actually "one with a nail and a cross"...that makes alittle more sense than arrow and a cross | |

| It's about a man who can no longer communicate with his g/f. Finally sick of her saying "you never talk to me" he unleashes with a voley of things that have built up within him over their time together. he feels better, but she goes mental and he's left thinking "What the fuck? I thought she waanted me to talk to her?" I think cumbersome refers to the fact that she is sick of him and wants to dop other things. This song was on the radio when my wife and I broke up and that's what it will always mean to me. Great song, though and a mighty riff. | |

| This was a good time for music, Nirvna, STP, Alice In Chains, 7m3, tons of great bands. Oh and that first line is genius, those are GREAT lyrics. "She calls me Goliath and I wear the David mask I guess the stones are coming too fast for her now You know I'd like to believe this nervousness will pass All the stones that are thrown are building up a wall" I guess he's saying he has pretended to be nice and honest to his girl, and really he's been un-faithful to her. And it's too much for her to take and she's slowly moving away from him. | |
