Sex Pistols - My Way
Submitted By: Jaime
EMail: Seachain84
This is my favorite Sex Pistols song because Their kick ass bassist
Sid Vicious is singing it. It is funny and at the same time kick ass.
The only thing you got to know is that ?B is just a step down and
?E is the same thing.
Intro: E
E
And now, the end is near
? B
And so I face the final curtain
?E
You cunt, I´m not a queer
B E
I´ll state my case, of which I´m certain
E
I´ve lived a life that´s full
A
And each and every highway
E B
And yet, much more than this
E
I did it my way
E
There were times, I´m sure you knew
A
When there was nothing fucking else to do
?E B
But through it all, when there was doubt
G# ?B
I shot it up or kicked it out
?E B
I fought them all just as before
E
And did it my way
Knocked out in bed last night
I´ve had my fill, my share of looting
And now, the tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think, I killed a cat
And may I say, oh no, not their way
But no, no, not me
I did it my way
For what is a brat, what has he got
When he finds out that he cannot
Say the things he truly thinks
But only the words, not what he feels
The record shows, I´ve got no clothes
And did it my way
Now that is Kick ass rock and roll. That is pritty much it. If you find
anything from the New York Dolls, The Stooges, and The Mc5 that will
be great. Peace

Hey, I understood those words! I didn't understand what you were trying to say, though. So next time, try actually saying something. This was actually a French song, Sinatra translated it into English. Nobody seems to know that.

The "greatest Punk Rocker" couldn't even play two notes on his instrument Errr.....Jeff, that's the point. He couldn't play a fucking note, but that was punk. In my eyes, Sid was the every embodiment of punk.

The video for this song is hilarious (I think he sings the actual lyrics of Sinatra's song rather than these though)...especially the end where he randomly shoots members of the audience before walking out of the room

John Simon Ritchie/Beverly. Not necessarily in that order, or at least that's what I've gathered. *shrugs*

sid vicious was not fake. He was cast into the band because of the way he was. He was always a punk

lol sid was alright. but he wasn't that great. he died. not too smart. i mean i like sid vicious. he was a cool guy. but he's not the greatest "punk rocker". like john rotten said--"he was a guliable fasion victim" which doesn't make him such a great "punk rocker". he was also bitch whipped by nancy. which again, doesnt make him such a good "punk rocker"

Yesterday was Sid's birthday. He would be 47 if he'd still live. Anybody remembered him yesterday?

i can clear up the Ritchie/Beverly thing becuase my English teacher gave me an assignment to do a report on sid vicious, because he thinks i look like him sometimes (mostly, i wear a leather jacket and combat boots everyday, and when i don't take the time to spike my hair in the morning it comes out looking like Sid's). Ok, here's what happened, he was born John Simon Ritchie in 1957. In the mid-60's his mother married a man who's last name was Beverly. The man was going to adopt sid, but he died less than a year after he got married. Hence, ur confusion on the subject

when it says: "but dig, what i had to do" i thought it was really: "but i did what i had to do" am i right? i saw it dig on two different places but it sounds to me (and makes more sense) that he says "i did"

Hmm. I thought it would be on a Sid Vicious search, for some reason. I love this song. I always listen to it over and over and over and over when it comes on... *named a cat after Sid*
