Shakira-Poem to a Horse
Tabbed by: Rodrigo"El Bueno"
INTRO Bm-G-D-A
Bm
You're too far to bring you close
Too high to see below
Just hanging on your daily dose
A - Bm
And you never needed anyone
But they're rolling papers for your grass
How can you give what you don't have?
Bridge
D
You keep on aiming for the top
E
And quit before you sweat a drop
G A
Feed your empty brain with your hydroponic pot
D
You start out playing with yourself
E
You get more fun within your shell
G A
Nice to meet you but I gotta go my way
Chorus
Bm G
I leave again
D A
Cuz I've been waiting in vain
Bm-G-D-A
But you're so in love with yourself
Bm G
If I say my heart is sore
D A
Sounds like a cheap metaphor
Bm-G-D-A
So I won't repeat it no more
Verse
Bm
I'd rather eat my soup with a fork
Or drive a cab to New York
Cuz to talk to you is harder work
A-Bm
So what's the point of wasting all my words
If it's just the same or even worse
Than reading poems to a horse
Bridge
D
You keep on aiming for the top
E
And quit before you sweat a drop
G A
Feed your empty brain with your hydroponic pot
D
I bet you'll find someone like you
E
Cuz there's a foot for every shoe
G A
I wish you luck but I've got other things to do
Chorus
Bm G
I leave again
D A
Cuz I've been waiting in vain
Bm-G-D-A
But you're so in love with yourself
Bm G
If I say my heart is sore
D A
Sounds like a cheap metaphor
Bm-G-D-A
So I won't repeat it no more
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I like this song. The beat is groovy and the words seem to mean something, but not something I understand. | |

| im not sure about this song being about Antonio de la rue, cause then there are songs like Te Aviso, Te anuncio, and if thats about him, then i dont think they would still be together. Im pretty sure that all the love songs are about him, but this song my be for a friend she once had or another man in her life that was important to her. But ashley did pretty much sum it up pretty good. | |

| hmm.... not about drugs, just about isolation, or selfishness in her (former) partner... | |

| This is a really good song. The text really describes how I used to be :( Yeah this song could have been about me, but I got lucky and found a girl who convinced me to stop and we're still going strong :) | |

| Of course it's about drugs. Hydroponic pot? Rolling papers for your grass? Definitely drugs. However, I am not against these things. There are definitely many things worse than smoking a little weed. Still a good song, but I don't feel very personally attached to it. | |

| this song is about how this girl's boyfriend does pot all the time, and she gets sick of it, and when she trys to talk to him, it's like reading poems to a horse, he completely doesn't pay attetion. I love it. It's pretty funny if you really listen to the words. | |

| Actualy, she wrote this song because she said that one of her closest friends started to do drugs, so she wrote for him/her... It is definitely my fav song out of Laundry Service... Not necessarily for the drug things, but i think of it as someone who thinks she's the big shit and ignores you... Hahaha | |

| Do you think this song could perhaps be about Antonio de la Rua, or is it just written in a general tone? I dont know, i remember hearing Laundry Service was written all about him... | |
