| i think this song is about a guy who was in a relationship with this girl. and it was a deep, loving relationship. but something happened. and she couldn't trust him, saying it was his fault things got messed up. and now he wants to make everything better. make things they way they use to be. ehhh...@ least thats what i think of it. | |

| I think the music video has something to do with relationships. The singer mentions 'everything was new and less watered down before the summer turned to brown' .. and the band members all start out with brown - wearing brown, brown instruments, etc. But eventually the little kid meets up with one of his friends (the girl) and their relationship is young and carefree (shown by the change of brown to pink). That's my take on it.. something like that. :P | |

| When I first heard this song, I didn't like it much... but, after a couple of times, I became a little erratic about it. I always sort of thought that it was maybe about a relationship that ended... because the girl felt that he was insincere, maybe cheating on her... and she flipped, and they broke up... but now she knows that it wasn't true... and she's sorry for flipping out so badly... but her freaking out made him realize that he needs to work on himself more, how he appears and stuff to others... or maybe he nearly did cheat. Either way, maybe when he's done with his personal journey, he knows that she'll be there waiting for him. It could be about a million different things, though. My little story about it doesn't really fit much with the lyrics. xsigh. A childhood relationship makes sense... or maybe just infatuation... I don't know. Love Sherwood. | |

| Yeah, same here. I think the girl did something, but the guy doesn't want her to apologize because he -wants- her to feel bad. I think that's what the demons to wrestle now refers to. | |

| Awww. I love this song. It makes me regret some times that I didn't say what I was really feeling.. "Don't blink, don't close your eyes, But most of all don't apologize." I'll still apologize for it... | |

| It's about a guy who really loved a girl, but he screwed up, and now he's trying to make up for his mistakes. "Before the summer turned to brown" Everything was okay before the fall, when he most likely cheated, or just screwed up however. | |

| or it could be about a girl that already has a boyfriend, but then she cheats on him with this guy, who feels bad because he loves her but is making her feel bad and disloyal, and he tells her it isn't her fault because it's his fault, and he's the ones with the demons to wrestle now. to me, that's how i take it... | |

| I think it's about a relationship that went to hell because the girl accused him of cheating several once but he never did; he was always true to her because he really loved her. After it being proven that he didn't cheat, she'd apologize every time - he got sick of hearing it, though he loved her deeply, and decided to break things off and deal with the pain. "but most of all don't apologize, it's me who's got the demons to wrestle now" Refers to his being sick of hearing it, and the fact that HE'S the one that has to deal with the pain of her not trusting him. "There's a patch of blue in the stormy sky, a memory of a brigher time," Refers to all the good they shared in their times, I see it as a very long relationship that started as kids and grew over the years. "When everything was new and less watered down," The brighter times when they were kids, when she trusted him and they were pretty carefree (new and less watered down; they were young and things weren't complicated.) "Before the summer turned to brown" Before they started to grow up, before the 'seasons' started to change, that's when everything was good. Then they started to grow up - she stopped trusting him; the end. As far as the "Don't say you can't believe it now, That you're almost settled down," He's telling her not to say she can't believe it's over now that she's realized what she's done, her lack of trust in him. She swears she'll never do it again and wants him back; "'Cause you'll be right here, When I come back around." He knows that she'll always love him; no matter what she says, so letting go doesn't hurt as much because he knows if he decides he wants to give her another chance - she'll still be there. Alright, that's my take, I'm done. | |

| He's in awe that the girl he's in a relationship with doesn't trust him. He was so happy, and now it seems to him that its over, and he needs to figure out to move on. "bringing you down to feel this lack of loyalty", maybe she was talking about him in a negative way, or even cheated. Either way he doesn't need to her apologies for the lack of trust and whatever else lead to the demise of their relationship. He just needs to get over her, and not dwell on the time when they were great together. | |

| i pretty much agree with sk8er, although for me it has more to do with that the singer isn't with whoever they're singing about anymore for whatever reason (means something in particular to me, although it could be anything). so its about how he/she is dealing with it. seems to me like they're taking a fair share of the blame in whatever happened. "But most of all don't apologize. It's me who's got the demons to wrestle now" and then the singer is just trying to make light of the whole situation "There's a patch of blue in the stormy sky, A memory of a brighter time." for me it really clicked with some stuff i have going on, but i guess that's the point, it means different things to different people as for the video, i have no clue, i just know its pretty darn cute, makes me happy :] | |

| Great song.. possibly the one I can most relate to off of the new album. To me this song is about a guy who's left all alone - all his friends and even his girl left him. But I get the feeling that he's coping with it. I think he would like to get back together with his girl ("let's write the story again where I'm your lover and best friend") but I think he finds relief that there are other people who are in the same predicament as he is. In a way, I think he tries to let other people know that he's been alone and lonely just like them - and because they share that common bond they aren't really totally alone. All in all, an amazing song. =) | |
