When she wrote Tuesday Night Music Club, before she became successful, Shery Crow was a depressed, down-on-her-luck alcoholic musician playing dive bars. This song reflects that. She should be saying "am I weak enough to be your woman?" instead. Of course, that isn't quite as poetic as "are you strong enough to be my man?" So, whatever works.

I think so many people can relate to this song. It's obvious when you seen everyones comment. I know how it goes too. My best "guy" friend would probably be the guy in my life that would answer yes to "are you strong enough?" He puts up with everything I send him through all because he loves me, but he also knows that right now isn't a good time for me to allow him to be anymore than my best friend....because he realizes that, and because he's still standing right alongside of me...he's definitely strong enough.

i think its amazing that so many females can relate to this song and how it describes them perfectly, including me.. not many songs can just 'get' you like that.

this song is definitely amazing, everything is so profound. its the definition of every woman really, we need 'strong' men to put up with our emotional crap. and even when we try to be all tough and independant, we still need someone to be strong for us. its a beautiful song, the acoustics are great and sheryl sounds wonderful in this.

i can definitely relate to this song...i have been just starting a new relationship with this guy, but i have a lot of baggage, and i'm scared that once he discovers all that, it will be too much for him. i think especially the first verse describes what it's like to struggle with depression and be in a relationship... sometimes you just feel like crap, and you can't explain it to yourself, let alone explain it to your significant other, but nonetheless, you really just need them to be there. And it really does take a strong man to be able to do that.

this song decribes me so much i joke about this osng with my bf all the time askin him if hes strong enough what the song is sayin is that shes hard to put up with but as much as she pushes him away she does want him to stay with her and even if he lies to her she will still stay with him and be foolish and pretend he loves her

yeah, this is really a wonderful song. she's obviously not the easiest person to be in a relationship with, seems to have some trust/anger management issues or something ... but inside she's very dependent and has a lot of love to give. I think every female can relate.

This song definitely reminds me of my relationship with my boyfriend. I'm extremely emotional and cry at nearly everything, and my boyfriend just recently discovered this. "I have a face I cannot show"- I have problems crying in public or around people I know.

I read that this song deals with the strains placed on relationships by PMS (PreMenstrual Syndrome). She obviously tries to convince her lover to stay with her, despite her moodswings. Difficult subject, good song.

i think in a way it describes how everyone feels in their relationship. I think everyone at one point or another feels like they are too much for thier spouce. Just my two cents

I have a face I cannot show "I make the rules up as I go It's try and love me if you can Are you man enough to be my man? " that line is so incredibly written for me. I think its about someone who has baggage about themself, and self esteem problems. Shes asking him to put up with all her moods, and even though youre supposed to love yourself before you can love anyone else, she needs him to love her so she can love herself. Did that make sense? sounded better in my head...

to me this song discibes a female that is going through a hard time in her life, she wants to be loved, but feels that maybe shes carrying to much baggage for a man to get close to her. i think this song is how she asks the man if he is ready to take her for everything she is, baggage and all. when it says "lie to me...i promise i'll believe" she's wants him to tell her everything will be ok..even if it's not.

this song is sooo me. i'm quick to believe something someone tells me, especially if that someone is a guy i'm involved with. but i stick with him, because i'm so dependant, and it really sucks.

I was about 10 when this song came out. I remeber listening to in on MTV (before it was quite so empty), I used to imagne my future "man" this song has meant alot to me at many different times. I still havent found a man "strong enough" but this song has always been there for me and its been a grate help. {Lie to me I promise, I'll believe Lie to me But please don't leave.} Thats me inside and out. Thanx for hearing me whine. .elle backwards is elle. elle is backwards elle.

I love this song. It's really something i can relate to...how i act sometimes and how my boyfriend can let me be alone when i need to, but still be there for me. Also, in the bridge when she says "lie to me...but please don't leave"...it just shows how much i'll love him no matter what. ahhh i love this song.
