| I think it's about wanting to be rid of your problems instead of being condemned for them. The reference to the unborn child I think means to any unborn child, not a specific one. Telling all of them to keep their hope and innocence for a while. These guys rock in concert, I just saw them for a second time last Friday! | |

| Personally I believe this song is definitely about suicide, and that the motive behind the suicidal thoughts is his fear and uncertainty about an unwanted pregnancy... He believes suicide is the only way out of his problems. "No real reason to accept the way things have changed." | |

| I don't think it's about abortion, per se, but I think it's about a guy who is depressed over fathering a child. He doesn't want to be a dead-beat, but he doesn't want to throw his life away on the kid, either. So he's contemplating shooting himself in the head. The "message to the unborn child" I guess are his departing words of wisdom to the kid, for when he's old enough to understand them. | |
