I loved this version of Simple Man, Brent has an amazing voice. All of the acoustic versions on their cd's are my favourites, you can just hear the meaning and purity in his voice.

actually, lynard skynard was a band, not a person...like led zeppelin, band name, not a person. and this is a phenominal cover from a phenominal, when compared to today's other rock artists, band.

Is it me or does it sound like he says "there isn't someone up above" instead of "there is someone up above" ... ?

i actually like the vocals in lynyrd skynards version a lot more.. vocals are great in both but i'd have to say that van sants just make you wanna sing along

"there isn't someone up above" would be so much better:) the meaning isnt what i like but the voice of both singers
