| I like the Hero/Firefighter interpetation. To me this song can be summarized in 3 words, "Bring it Biotch" "Hello, let me introduce you to The characters in the show One says yes, one says no" This divides the world into two groups, the ones who step up and protect others and the ones who stand by and do nothing. Could also be a firefighter arriving at a scene and being informed about crowd control. Police fire ambulance crews over here, everyone else behind the yellow line. "Decide - which voice in your head you can keep alive" You are already telling yourself what you should do, now decide if you will help or stand aside and let the voice fade away. "Even in madness, I know you still believe" No matter how crazy the situation, no matter how much stuff is going through your head, that voice is still telling you to do the right thing. "Paint me your canvas so I become What you could never be" If you are to afraid to do the right thing tell me whats going on, paint me a picture of the danger and I will take care of it for you. "I dare you to tell me to walk through the fire Brand my soul and call me a liar" Dont think for one minute that I'm just going to stand aside while people are in danger, and if I do you can brand my soul a liar for eternity. "Hello, are you still chasing The memories in shadows" Are you still standing there worrying about what is going to happen to you? "Some stay young, some grow old, Come alive" Hero's die young, bystanders grow old because they always freeze up and reflect on their memories instead of acting on the situation. Come alive, wake up and do something with your life, save someone instead of sitting there doing nothing. "there are thoughts unclear You can never hide" I know your scared, we are all scared but somebody has to do it. You may not be able to hide your fear but you can still work with it. I love this song, It makes me think of the everyday heros risking their lives, the troops in Iraq and especially the heros from 9/11 who listened to the voice telling them to risk their lives to save people, while others just stared and pointed as the planes hit. | |

| actually, I think this song is more about inspiration. It's like something is daring you to fail, but that just gives you all the more motivation to succeed... I can especially relate to this song, because there are times when I have kept the wrong voice alive... and times when I've been wrongfully called a liar and such.. this song always comes to mind during that, because I just hear the "I dare you to...call me a liar" and it just makes me that much more determined to prove otherwise. | |

| My take on it its about any relationship when its kind of the last straw. Saying "I dare you to.." and see what becomes of it | |
